Hmm. The Town has a Doctor, who protected the Mafia's chosen target? Which means the Maf has the Terrorist.

Obviously I'm not going to confirm, but does that seem more or less likely than Curio being the only goon?

FTFY. But I take your point.

If that is the case, the Townies are off to a blinding start. It means the Maf have lost a kill, and a goon, and the Doctor now knows someone they protected is not a Maf. This leads to an interesting game of cat and mouse, where the Doc tries to decide to protect the same guy tonight (or not), and the Maf try to second guess him.

I'll only say this: there was only one possible permutation yesterday where the town could have been better off (Plissken's death notwithstanding).

Why do people do this? I mean, not read the rules.

Sigh. Also, re: Plissken, what's this Comedian role Myop?

Nothing - he's just a townie. I thought I'd be 'amusing' by giving him a profession.

Joans has gone menkle.

Of course, if the Town Doctor is protecting the Serial Killer or Cult Leader, the Town are in trouble.

Just read through the last few pages again and spotted this.

A supposed townie is willing to sacrifice themselves in order to save someone who is claiming to be the SK?

Could be a very good spot, that.

Who was it you referred to as a goon in the thread, Myop? No one picked up on it, and I'm sure you wouldn't have meant it - but I'd love it if you had.

Haha, whoops. It was Bobbyaro's spazzy voting. I just used it because I liked the word 'degooned' - don't read anything into it (or do).

The collective denseness is always there - and why the real fallacy of trying to have the SK onside should have been mentioned. Namely that it would have been almost impossible to agree on a target, so the SK could have picked from a list anyway.

Zaphod is going to be in trouble soon - that defence of Curio yesterday is going to bite him now everyone knows Curiosity was Mafia.

If he was scum, that was a very badly thought out move, which almost makes me think that he isn't.

Well, there are certain people in the thread whom I am 'cheering on'.

I won't tell you who though.

Other than bloody Craster isn't one of them, and I hate the town doctor, who is saving his (possible) Serial Killing ass!

True, but it was the fact he offered himself as a sacrifice, which if the Mafia had only one goon would be very beneficial to the scum.

I love Dudley's Mafia-posting style, where anyone who doesn't see the 'obvious and clear truth of the matter' is as dumb as a post.

And then Dudley is subsequently almost always proved wrong.

:D

There really isn't is there? Why do people introduce oddities like this just to cloud things? They end up discussing it for ages (well, it feels that way) and letting it get in the way.

It'll be interesting to see when the big bandwagon gets going, who starts said bandwagon, who hops on it, and who it is aimed at.

The town absolutely has to lynch today, or they'll probably undo some of their good start.

Unless they get lucky again and the Mafia off the Cult Leader

I don't think he understands how that works...

Also, I really wonder who got the vision.

Also, question for myoptika:

Who decides who gets the vision? Do you pick from the two people according to which would benefit the game, which would be funnier, or do you do it randomly by flicking a coin or similar?

No, another piece of wrong thinking. The AB could be anyone, it's not a townie-specific role.

I can't help feeling I'd be going after the cult.

And I can't help but be suspicious of someone having been recruited.

It'd be rather pointless, as no one would be able to target him during the day. He'd just end up committing suicide and nothing else.

Oh well. It would be amusing. Especially if you gave the role to CG and we all ignored his advice.

Nah, you're getting confused with the Suicide Bomber from a previous game. The terrorist can choose to blow him/herself up during the night phase, and anyone targeting them will also die.

Fair enough. Still, I do like the idea of giving CG the opportunity to kill someone via the MEDIUM OF FURIOUS ANGER.

Unlucky, sir.

I'd love to say that I'm sad to see you die, but as a Townie, that's good for my win condition.

Now here's hoping the Cult Leader cops it overnight...

Ah well - it was on the cards after day one and that was well played Curio - but very dumb of the town to think that :

1) There really would only be one goon
2) That the mafia would make that much of a stand for a single player on the very first day

I actually went back into the thread after the final vote but before it was locked and was going to post - if anyone is going to pull the trigger give me 5 minutes to go back and see who is actually voting for me because they think i'm bad rather than 'oh well we need to vote for someone and he's at the top of the list'

From memory CG / GJ / Joans / Runcle were all 'i dont think he's going to be a baddie'

The game is going to depend on who the SK gets and if anyone manages to hit the cult leader before about day 4 otherwise the cult will win the game.

Oh and i'm still backing Craster for SK (and i love the fact he posted that he really doesnt care what groups people are in - he's just got them sorted out and lumping them all together - yes these are 'town' , these are 'mafia' , these are 'cult' and i need to kill them all but end up with a balance between them otherwise they will gather together and kill me :-)
