today
But what is it?
I've never seen one before, no one has.
Did you weigh up the costs between antimacassars and a balaclava?
Baklava would ruin the chair

I've spent the week considering getting an electric blanket. This comes straight after spending way too much time choosing antimacassars for my armchair. I think I'm getting old.

Well, can we see the ones you chose?

I have also been looking for an electric throw. There’s an under blanket on the bed already, but I want one to keep me warm on the sofa.

Get a cat.
I wouldn’t mind a cat but for three things:

(Most importantly) I love birds, and watching all the birds just hopping carefree around the lawn brings me so much joy. The little robin is so precious, I would hate for them to be nervous of a cat (or worse).

The smell of cat food makes me retch.

About four years ago I became suddenly allergic to cats. I’m not sure if it’s all cats or just my in-laws* cats, but now I get a rash all over, itch terribly and sneeze and cough a lot every time I’m at their house.

*not ruling out maybe I’m just allergic to the in-laws.
Also, I think I’d rather have a dog.

But dog food also makes me retch.

And we don’t have a back garden fences here, so visiting dogs (like my Ma’s) end up just all over neighbours gardens until someone shouts out that there is a random dog a few gardens over, and she gets lots of fusses as she’s brought back over :D

Or possibly their house / something in their house

When I was a kid and we visited one cousin they had a cat and my alergies always went into overdrive , and everyone assumed I was alergic to their cat , however they then moved and when we visited after that I never had any problems.

you could always say hello to someone else's cat and see if anything happens

A lot of dogs are quite happy with just dried dog food and that usually does not have much of a smell

Besides how could you say no to a face like this

Lots of people keep cats in these days and they're happy enough with the arrangement by all accounts.
Get a dog and biscuits.

They will keep you warm, kinda. But you have to take them out when it’s cold and miserable. But you could make Russ do that… so yeah get a dog.

As for allergies, Schnauzers, Poodles and others are your best bet as they shed very little fur.
or...and hear me out here...get an electric blanket.

Have you *seen* the price of electricity these days?
30 Guinea pigs?
Jem bought me an electric throw a few years back and it’s ace. I also just discovered that you can get electric foot warmers too.

Pro tip: get a smart switch to go with it so you can turn it on from your sofa.

Possibly. How much, what condition, etc?

Boxed, unlocked, excellent condition (has been kept in a case with a screen protector its entire life, although I've removed the screen protector and case for sale)

128GB Graphite model.

No idea on price -- £450 seems to be the going rate from what I can tell, though?

Mimi might be interested in this if Dr Zoidberg says no (obviously he showed interest first) as her phone is getting a bit borked.
Feel free to jump ahead of me. I don’t *need* a new phone as
My XS works just fine. It’s just the thought of an upgrade tempting me.
If you want to drop me a PM Russ, go for it :)
The Warhead family has finally been inducted into the Covid19 club. I'm amazed we've avoided it this long.

Thanks. It felt pretty much like a mild cold to me, Mrs and Miss feeling a bit worse than I did, but seem to be over the worst already (I hope).

I took BogIne to see the Women's Super League footy today. It was Liverpool against Arsenal at Tranmere Rovers ground, and it was a bloody brilliant day out. Even if we queued for chips for forty minutes and missed half the second half.

We went to have a peek at the big scope and other stuff at Jodrell Bank on Thursday. Luckily it didn't rain. I used to go every month when I was a member of Macclesfield Astronomical Society, aeons ago, but the visitor bits have been completely upgraded since then.
