If be worried that those lovely jade coloured dishes were going to get damaged more than anything else.

Irritating, my kids are absolutely awful at stacking the plates properly, we have about 2-3 plates from about 5 different sets of plates (clumsy family!) in our cupboard, and there is one order that minimises the height of the stack. But I'm about the only person that puts them in that order (my wife at least groups similar plates together, but not always in the "correct" order).
Intensely irritating, but then I get worked up over stuff like that because in my head everything has an order or a place :S

Not particularly.

I mean, I wouldn't have it like that, as I'd only have one kind of dish in a stack, but it wouldn't overly phase me.
It irritates me, but it's me that stacks them like that, because I empty the dish washer in the mornings and I'm on a tight schedule, so I just stack them in the correct pile, but not grouped by colour, because I just don't have the time. I have several chores to do before I leave for work so I've had to overcome my irritation.

The lovely jade ones are a recent purchase. Some of the old ones have gone, but not all of them. I don't know why, it's not my department.
I don't know about you, but I'm going to be less anxious today.

When my missus empties the dishwasher and puts the mugs away, there's not even pairs or sets next to each other, it's just absolute bloody anarchy in there.
Grounds for divorce, right there.

I got up two minutes earlier this morning to sort those. Still not perfect, as they're at a slightly wonky angle part way down. I'll sort that when I get home.
Have you thought of getting something like this, @Warhead?

https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/variera-sh ... -60136623/

You can get them in various widths/heights/depths. I think Wilko, etc do versions, too.
Oh, I don't do any thinking about the kitchen arrangements unless specifically asked for an opinion. In this instance, my opinion is to get rid of all the old crockery.

The Domestic Manager's opinion is that the whole kitchen needs ripping out and replacing, but the Funding Manager has made it clear that, having just had the bathroom ripped out and replaced, the budget needs replenishment before this can be considered. There are a number of other projects under consideration, but I suspect that budgetary constraints will prevent these coming to fruition in the near future, unless there's an unexpected injection of funds.
Today I am having my break in the home town of the current Dr Who. I would have liked to stop a couple of miles back, where the view was better, but there was nowhere to park.

The strangest thing has happened this evening. I saw a tweet where someone had got Outrun 2 on the arcade up and running on their PC via emulation. A few people commented saying how good it looked and one guy tweeted that he would be happy to help anyone get it up and running.

I replied and have had a few messages and links going back and forth and he was kind enough to set up the emulator with Outrun 2 for me to download. It's ace by the way... Anyway, we were chatting in the Twitter DMs and he then asked if I was in Dudley, which I am. Turns out he lives about 2 miles up the road from me!

I mean, really?!? The chances of that must be slim, right? There was no indication in his tweets of where he's from and I didn't follow him until tonight. I'm amazed. Crazy.
Wrong thread. This should be in “What have you bought.”
When I were nobbut a nipper (here we go again) skateboards were not a thing is this country. We had roller skates, but we also used to make our own bogeys, and I don't mean that stuff you pick out of your conk, I mean four wheeled vehicles, usually made with some old pram wheels, a couple of planks and a bit of rope to steer with, like these.

A friend of mine lived in the railway station master's house at Heaton Mersey, long after the line had been shut down in the Beeching cut. It had a private road that went down from the main road for a couple of hundred yards and then had a junction, either right into the station yard, or left into the coal yard, where engines used to load coal into their tenders. We used to spend ages racing down that hill as it was completely free of other traffic.
Why should it be in the “what have you bought” thread? Have you bought a go-kart?
I think maybe he's replying to TV?
Yes, I was, continuing on the subject of going downhill on unpowered conveyances. For reasons too boring to go into, I couldn't movie it to that thread. It's all to do with which device I'm editing on and which device has the required photo.
This is the lunch time view I've been hoping to get for yonks, but this place is usually full of HGVs so I end up in a corner with no view. Not so, today.

US based, but these "deluxe board game" sets (cough, Ticket to Ride) are so pretty.

This was put through my letterbox this morning. I'm excited to find out what the bonus local content is.
It’ll be the redacted chapter of the Bibble where Moses goes to Garth Park and is asked to get off the play equipment by a peeved dad because ‘he beheld that there were children in want of a swing’.

And I will call it this forever more.

I assume Bicester is old testament and Bicester Village is new testament.

We've just had an engineer's Zoom meeting with a manager I've never heard of, but if she'd entered her name as Jimmy Krankie it would have been completely believable.

I mean it could be worse...
Mrs. W says she saw swifts last night, but I think they must be sleeping in after their long journey, because I haven't seen any this morning.
Now this, THIS I do find disturbing.

Not sure if you mean Kern's video background, or my shirt pyjamas.
How do you know I'm not still in your cupboard?
I think Mrs. W would have Whatsapped me if you were.

I've just seen them. Only two of them, but they ARE here, and others should arrive soon.
One of my colleagues has resigned. I am now the most experienced Architect on the team.

He tried to do what I did, and got a better offer, to be matched. My company just let him go....

I guess it is a risk you take by doing that.

That's really interesting, though - seems like a(nother) feather in your cap, that they fought for you. Possible they had a chat after that and decided not to play the game again, but more likely they really didn't want to lose you.
Yes, they don't normally counter and let folks go. I must be doing something right.

Damn straight. And you were prepared to take that risk too.

Good for you. :)

It has given me a lot more confidence at work.. ok I am not known for being shy :)

I turned down an interview for a job, that would have been a lot more money recently, as there would be no work life balance.

Good for you. You've become a real mental health advocate too over the last couple of years. Proud of you Kov. :luv:
That means a lot... Thank you xx

I am blushing

Not true. Pretty sure I wished you a happy birthday in December, despite it not even being your birthday, because I wanted you to have a happy birthday THAT MUCH.
