Hellooooooooooooooooo! If you're not too busy taking pictures, we've got another task for you, and it's a FAN FAVORITE from last year!

In this task, three members of your team are going to tell us a story about an event they were present at or a talent they have or an interesting thing that no-one else knows about - but only one of the stories will be true. The opposing team will be able to ask questions about the stories, and then will have to guess which story is the true one.

Here's TASKMASTER with the rules!

TASKMASTER wrote:
As the trailing team, The Love Bunnies will have until midday to decide if they want to guess first or tell stories first. The story team will have until 10am tomorrow to post their stories, which have to come from three individual players. The guessing team will have until 3pm tomorrow to ask questions and guess the truthful story. There is no specific time limit for answering the questions of the guessing team, but delaying answers deliberately will be frowned upon, so please make sure you can be around to answer if you post a story. If there are outstanding questions when the time to pick the story is up, the time will be extended. The person telling the truthful story must answer all questions truthfully. Questions directly relating to the validity of the stories (ie. "is this story true") are not allowed. The stories must involve the people posting them. Curiosity isn't allowed to post a true story that happened to Trooper and claim it was true, for example. The lies must be full-on lies - no bending the truth a little and changing something that really exists slightly.

Lots of rules! Love Bunnies - play or pass?

Well Bob. I can call you Bob, right? Your names Phil? Ok. Well Bob, given that The Love Bunnies are all making love to one another right now. Like bunnies. Well, I'm more like a dumper truck backing up to a tip. But anyway since we're too busy to read this, we'll pass.

This is the story of a man. A charming and handsome man, a man of no small renown.
Just over 1 year ago this man told a lie, and he convinced an illustrious group that this lie was truth. This pleased him greatly, and he was content. For you see this lie was a lie about numbers, and he liked numbers. He lied that he could remember a 200 digit number with no error, nor difficulty in the task. The group believed this outlandish tale, and many laughs were had all round.
Yet this man got to thinking, would it be possible? Was such a feat a thing that could be done. This man was known to be quite obsessive and single minded, yet also to have a love of what would be seen as mildly eccentric pastimes. So he took up the challenge, and he practiced, and he failed. So he looked up various methods to see if there was a trick to it, and so it seemed there was! So he researched, and he learned, and he practiced, and he got good at numbers. His memory increased, he started to learn, he started to succeed and he continues to practice. This man is now halfway there, he can remember a 100 digit number with little difficulty. He will succeed, he has promised himself, and he will return in triumph.

This man is me.

When I was 13, my family made our annual visit to Surrey for an annual shooting competition at Bisley. Two weeks of camping.

The nearest shop was a short walk away, and one trip out there I noticed they sold magazines of an err... risqué nature. I tried to buy one to test the water so to speak, and was surprised to find that I could buy it, no questions asked.

The next seven days saw me make return trips to that shop, where each time I purchased more and more of these magazines until, by the end of the camping trip, I returned home with a total of 22 magazines. Curiously, not once did the newsagent enquire just why I was buying so many of these damn things, he must have thought I had arm muscles to rival an Olympic weightlifter or something.

As soon as I got home, I then started a "business" at school renting said magazines out to classmates. This proved to be very lucrative, and I kept this going until the end of school more-or-less, leading to my nickname of "Porn King" - which no longer follows me around (something that is either good or bad, I can't quite work out which.)

Apologies for tardiness.

Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped; turned upside down. And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there, and I'll tell you how I broke up a fight between some Manchester United players at a hotel this one time.

I'll give it a go

Curio / Gaz / Trooper

On a scale of 1 to 10 , with 1 being not very truthy and 10 being very truthy - how much truth is there in your story ?

Sorry everyone, TLB has imploded.

(I'll get this going later on today as I've had client meetings all day and I've got to do some work for a change.)

Given that its the weekend can I suggest the thread is locked and we wait until Monday to restart - or (possibly better for TLB) that the deadline is instead extended until the end of tomorrow with the understanding that since its the weekend responses may not be as instant as they would have been if it was a normal weekday ?

I'm just about to head off to the train station and i'll be mobile only for the weekend. So a postponement would work for me.

In which case I think hold this until Monday if TLB can be around then as it would not make sense to continue over the weekend with people who cannot take part.

Sorry, some us have jobs to do - I assume, I am not one of them.

I am fine with a postponement, our team consists of people who work strange shifts.

Authorities?

I Googled memory techniques and learnt about a few, I primarily use the consonant system mnemonic, combined with the journey method. Feel free to look them up if you like, I don't have any links to hand as I know the methods, so don't need to look them up anymore!

Ah,iget what you were asking now, I thought you were talking about a method I had never heard of! :)

I'm not at home at the moment so don't have a pen and paper to do a long number right now but turban columbus is 149275390

You didn't spot Peg Words from your system? Actually, that's not a question it's rhetorical.

I'm taking an executive decision.

Trooper is the liar. Final answer.

I'll tell you why: He is good with numbers. He can remember large strings on numbers. He can remember his credit card numbers on all the credit cards he's ever had. He can, in fact, remember up to 200 numbers not just 100. He lied. He is a liar.

I think Taskmaster needs to come back and be clear about timings (so i'd suggest that Gaz does not answer the question)

The original idea was they were all going to be asked on Friday - it was then changed to be 'tomorrow' (i.e. Saturday) and this is now a question being asked mid day Sunday.

I can't remember, it's a good 16-17 years ago. I want to say they were about £3 each but I can't be sure.

What do mags like that cost these days?
