No, not still going.

Craster attacked Nickachu.
SG protected Nickachu.
Nickachu investigated SG.

Game over :D Town Win!

Congrats Town, you deserved it, I thought you were out of it by day 3.
Commiserations Mafia, a series of excellent guesses from the cop did you in, even though the town were doing the best they could to help you out with missing the night actions.

GJ? 1 kill? Seriously? :D

Mr Russell, good attempt dude, went too crazy too early I fear.

Hope you all enjoyed it :) Can a mod open up the dead thread to all please.

Fuck it. I took a gamble on SG thinking I would go for him so protecting himself. Soooo close!

I can't believe how lucky Nick's investigations and Bobby's 'is this a lie' guess were.

Troop what were GJ's night actions? was it the Prostitute or Doctor that stopped the kills? Just professional curiosity

Shut up was it! The logical move was for SG to protect himself.

I really liked it. It was hella frantic at the end there, and I guess there were probably a few missed actions, but it certainly kept things moving.

I thought you weren't going to have a night phase at all - just have a long rolling day phase and kill people off every time 'night' happened.

I totally missed the end, I'd went down the beach for a couple of hours and came back and it was all over and i was dead! I liked it, thought the games helped stimulate conversation.

Aye, i liked it, but probably a bit harsh on people who can't check the PC quite often, but the faster pace made it a lot better. Also the daily games got the chat going.

Ohh btw, Davpaz, which of you lot of Mafia was supposed to get 10 in the number game?

That was the plan, but I realised that would only work if I could constantly be on the thread, and also I needed a bit of time to work out what the actions actually meant at the end of each phase.

A minor down period seemed the best option, and least confusing, some of your tiny brains had trouble working out the rules as they currently were, let alone having no break at all! :D

Glad people liked the games, I tried to make some of them need collaboration and be at least a bit useful in terms of working stuff out :) Plus it helped with the usual quiet start problem.

That was a maverick move that was not agreed upon by Team Mafia.

Yeah, we didn't plan to do that at all. Because, as already discussed, it would have been a mahoosively obvious scum tell.

Really good game trooper, I think the speed helped, at least the lack of down time between rounds. It is unfair on people who can't post during the day, but not too bad, yesterday evening was pretty busy.

And claiming I was lucky in my investigation! How dare you, it was well thought out after reading every post! I was going to quote a whole load of posts in a post myself and ask Trooper, but then realised it would be useless! :D

yeah, I realised. Strangely though, the only other ones I could find where you could answer were by Gilly and Craster.

Heh - were they lies though?

I didn't mean your guess was lucky, I meant you were lucky that you won the mysterious guessing ability, and there was a post that davpaz was forced to lie in for you to choose. And Davpaz was only forced to lie because he 'won' the game on day 1.

By the way, the day 1 prize that Curio and Davpaz won was one-night immunity, nothing to do with investigating. Davpaz could in fact have quite happily told the truth!

Indeed. Usually games tend to wind down as the talkative people get killed off and long downtimes take the wind out of the sails. With no downtime it is harder for this to happen.

I want to play again, now!

Feel free to run one, I want to play this time :p

I wonder if it is possible to do a proper "endless day"? We would have to have separate threads for each cut off though, as the counter would get screwed up otherwise, and if you do that, you might as well sort out the actions in the meantime, which takes at least 5-10 minutes to work it out, pm people who need it, write the next kick-off post etc..., even at the end of the game it's time consuming.

Hmm... the only way I can see it working is people continually sending in their most current thoughts on actions, and the deadlines being completely arbitrary and decided by the GM. That way they can spend some time preloading a post, and just do the switch at a point where they have everything worked out and it all makes sense. Set a rule that the deadline will be no less than 24 hours in the future, but will happen at any point after that.

I agree. However, it does put the kibosh on people who aren't around during "popular times".

I'm still waiting for my go. Bitches.

I'm not sure that is a problem that can ever be solved though, we've tried various tactics to help the players that can't join in during the day and none have really been successful.

This game at least had a very busy evening one day, which is better than most! :)

Being a bit brutal - if you dont have the time to invest you shouldnt really take part in the game.

or aty least you should expect to not participate as much. However, as I said, it is about promoting conversation, people who come during the evening aren't going to sit down and talk to themselves; so it is as much about the people during the day not being there in the evening as those in the evening not being there during the day.

Anyway whos running the next game?

You better get onto it soon or Trooper will have had too much time to think up new rules for us to try!
