On the fourth morning, everything is silent. The townsfolk were expecting the grinding of park machinery to reveal another victim, and they are briefly gladdened. Then someone notices ravens circling over the kid's play area, and they run to investigate.

A bloody trail leads from the top of the helter-skelter to the bottom. Zaphod79's gut has been sliced open, and one end of his intestines tied to the safety rail at the top. He has then taken the last ride of his life down the slide, his guts unravelling as he fell. Zaphod79 was a Townie

Well, Curiosity's death had me thinking that Zaphod would turn out to be a townie.
Only 1 kill last night, does that mean only the Godfather remains of the mafia, or was somebody roleblocked?

I've pointed the finger quite blatantly at Goddess Jasmine for the last two days, but I haven't been killed for it. Also she and Curiosity were voting against each other on day 1.
This could all be neat mafia-hiding tactics, but I'm not so convinced about her as I was.

Unfortunately, I've not got many other ideas.

Mr Russ still rings alarm bells as a possible serial killer, but otherwise, see what Plissken says.

I spent an intimate night with gazchap last night.

Ok, here's a scenario (and yes I was completely wrong about my last 2 hunches) what if runcle isn't a prossy, and the mafia decided not to kill anyone?

As I discovered in the last game, the most fantastic scenarios don't really work.

Let's say Runcle is mafia, there is no hooker, so we have 2 goons.
They agree not to carry out a hit and runcle will roleclaim hooker and vote Gaz.
Either Gaz is innocent and Runcle's in trouble, or they're going to sacrifice Gaz to make Runcle look innocent.

Possible, but unlikely.
Let's just see what Plissken says anyway.

I chose comical on the second night to see if he was telling the truth.

I did a role count above. If what CG told us was true we have 1 godfather, 1 goon and 1 hooker or 1 godfather and 2 goons.
You're right, it is a possibility, but like your other plan it involves the mafia taking a risk on a 0-1 role not being in the game.

I've had Runcle on my townie list since day 1 when he tried to persuade me to unvote from Bluecup. There's no need to have done that unless he's playing a plan far more elaborate than one we've seen in the previous games (from anyone).

Maybe you're right, maybe you are the other mafia type, I wouldn't listen to me. I was so wrong last time. And let's say we lynch Gazchap and he's townie. All that the prossy can do is block someone, they don't (as far as I know) know if the person they blocked actually tried to do something. (Craster can you confirm that please?) Runcle could be the prossy, and the mafia decided not to kill someone any way (or maybe they tried to kill plissken who was protected).

I think Occam's Razor was written about this game.

It would be a calculated risk for the mafia to hit Plissken. Knowing that he's protected by the doctor, they would have to hope that the SK hit the doctor. I'm not even sure they could kill him that way anyway? Craster, would the doc's protection still count if he and the cop were both targetted for a killing?

Why risk wasting a kill, they know who their enemies are and they can pick off any of them?

So, it was either a deliberate attempt to not kill, to try and cast innocence on Runcle, although they must be sacricing Gaz because if he's innocent then we'll suspect Runcle, and they could have just killed Gaz anyway?

Or, somebody was roleblocked and didn't kill. Don't forget, the descriptions are muddled now that the photographer is gone (look at yesterdays descriptions), so we can't be sure if that was an SK hit or a mafia hit.

For now, we've still got the numbers. If Runcle says he blocked Gaz, then you have to assume Gaz was stopped from killing someone last night.

I say we wait for Plissken, and, unless he has a better target, lynch Gaz. Then move on from there.

I investigated Runcle last night, and found out he was Thai and not Sicilian.

Gazchap was next on my FOS. The fact that the Mafia didn't make a hit last night and he spent the night with our local tart strongly suggests that he is a goon.

Err... I'm a townie. We're now two Mafia Goons and a Mafia Blackmailer down, so it's quite possible there's just the Godfather left and, if I'm reading the rules right, he can't kill.

If that's the case, then no matter who Runcle spent the night with (assuming he's telling the truth) then there would be no mafia kill.

In fact, I'm going to vote Runcle (despite it looking retaliatory) as it's mighty convenient that he slept with Comical on the night he was killed and therefore we wouldn't find out if he did anything.

That only makes 8. So there has to be 1 more goon, who didn't kill for some reason.

We need to find the godfather and the SK to win. This is definitely the town's best ever position and we'd do well to fuck up from here.
We need to lynch most of our own to lose, unfortunately I'm a bit stumped now.

Here's what I've got so far - up to you if you want to believe the claims:

Plissken - Cop
Runcle - Hooker
Me, Lacesensor, Malc and Gaz - townies

That leaves Goddess Jasmine, The Rev Owen and Mr Russ as the doctor, the godfather and the SK.
We know Mr Russ isn't the godfather.

I suggest we start with one of those 3, if we hit the doctor by accident, there's still no guarantee that Plissken will get killed because only the SK can kill him and Plissken can't identify him, so he doesn't have to kill him straight away.

Snap Runcle, but remember Mr Russ isn't mafia, he could be the sk.

Yeah, I reckon Lace is a pretty safe bet as a townie. If he was either Mafia or the Serial Killer, his fake roleclaim at the start was a bloody brave move.

Mr Russ ain't Mafia, obv. Could still be the SK though, and would perhaps explain why he hasn't put on a comedy accent this time around

Still not sure about GJ, but I think you're right in that she's not Mafia based on her votes - could be a brilliantly played double bluff though.
