There really isn't a great deal going on today.
I'd hate to think that Curio has voted for me as i've not been on much today. Though that would be a fair point, i think it would possibly deflect attention from him again. That said, i'm not swinging my vote choice toward him. I'll wait a little while.

As a 'townie' I have not read the win condtions for me since the redone rules (although i did read all the rules before) as a townie you generally dont have to worry about your conditions just stick around and dont lynch a goodie - the *power roles* (both good and bad) need to read the rules to understand exactly how they work / limitations and weaknesses.

It was a completely random vote, to get things going.

It doesn't seem to have gathered much support.

I could probably be persuaded to vote for kalmar or Grim... or someone quiet and devious and Company-like.

With little to go on i am going to [vote:kalmar] for now, as his vote agains't Mr Dom appears to just be retaliatory. Will happily change the vote if more info comes to light

Er yes, it's mostly retaliatory. Plus the bad smell. So what?

Be sure to nail his ass when I turn out to be a DAC.

Well I'm going to [vote:Mr Dom] because he seems to be basing his vote on someone not reading something properly (or not at all) which is exactly what a close relative of mine did last time and she was proven to be a DAC. It's not that I think Kalmar is a good or bad guy, just I don't agree with Dom's reasons.

Not really seeing anything to change that here, either.

Split FOS at Kalmar and GJ currently - I'll see which way people are chasing, don't really want to leap on the current Kalmar vote yet.

Yes, I'm inclined to agree, but do want to get two people up against each other. Mr Dom is the most suss to me at the moment because I feel he is blowing something small out of proportion to try and get a lynch going on a particular person. If he has other information to share then I'm all ears. I think people are playing things quite close to their chest at the moment, so it's making the game difficult.

Where is Grim... anyway? He hasn't been mod killed has he?

Well, little slips are the only way to find the baddies, and talking about it is the way to find out if people agree. I have put my case across strongly (as I did yesterday but day was too short) - so I got in early & strong today with my suspicions.
I think that the consensus of people on here so far is that this wasn't enough of a slip to damn him for the evil scum that he so obviously is, and I don't have any other information sadly (except for the fact that I survived the night after pointing out Kalmar which I confess is bonus point in his favour), if I did I would happily share it.
So: [vote:unvote]
I made my point, jury is undecided, so I withdraw my case.. for now.

However - I don't really see much else going down atm, and noone else who has posted has been suss enough to pick out, so how about we poke the quiet ones instead.
(ha, like that ever works)?

Now this I agree with, if only because they bring nothing to the game. We all have quite bits through work/travelling/life etc.. but it's been VERY quiet in here today.

I need to go for a while now, but I'll look who hasn't been posting when I get back (unless someone else would like to do the honours)

I don't really feel like the point of voting for someone right this instant is to eliminate them, just to push them and watch happens. Just because I've got a vote in at the moment it doesn't mean it'll stay that way, I might change it or I might stick with it. I don't think we have anything to gain by not voting though. I also think we should choose someone else to start pushing as well so as we have two up. I would suggest that if people think GJ and kalmar are bad (wether they are or not) then putting them up against each other won't really show us anything. Instead, let's choose someone else.

Well, I was all for thinking Mr Dom's allegations against Kalmar were acceptable, and understandable, however, he then went and did this:

Mr Dom wrote:

So: [vote:unvote]

Why would you do that? Why would you unvote? You believe Kalmar is scum, yet unvote at this stage of proceedings? Highly unusual behaviour. It almost looks like someone trying to make Kalmar look innocent. "Oh look at me, I think Kalmar is scum"... "I don't think Kalmar is scum anymore, and if I am convinced, so should you be"

Highly suspicious both of you.

Ummm.. no.
My reasoning is: I think Kalmar is scum & I have been clear with my reasoning behind it, but it appears the majority disagree with the conclusion.
No sense me harping on any more about it, not enough people were convinced by my argument so.. meh.
I am trying to be useful...

This quote of GazChap's is the only thing that sticks out for me today. Just seems a bit too much of "me too!" but I don't know if it signifies guessing, or confirms that actually Gaz is in league with either/or.

I was going to post the same thing as Mr Dom, saw he'd posted before me, so said so.

GJ admitted that she didn't read her win condition. IMO, A DAC would be unlikely to stick their head above the parapet like that, so it seemed to be "above and beyond the call of duty" as it were, as if she was trying to back-up kalmar and justify what he said by agreeing with him.

Oh come on! Morte, you may as well write a sign and hold it up! "I, Morte, am a bad guy! Please treat me accordingly." In fact, it is almost so obvious, I am suspicious it may be a triple bluff!

It was my reason for not thinking it was a suspicious action, that's why I said it to explain myself. I honestly didn't realise that the win condition had changed until it was mentioned by LS in the dead thread and there's a good chance I wouldn't have noticed it now had it not have been pointed out. I'm not the only one to say so, Zaphod said the same earlier.

I'm pretty tired now, so I'll go over things a bit more tomorrow, like the people with very few posts that Dom has listed.

Bah. I'm not convinced by any arguments against Mr Dom, Kalmar, or indeed anyone else. But, equally, I'm convinced anyone's good, either.

I think the problem is that the DAC's need to survive for their win condition, so are less likely to leap in and mix things up and hope it helps everyone else. I've definitely been keeping my head down more than feels natural, just because if I die, I lose.

I'll vote for someone before night falls, but I'm really not sure who yet. I'm guess I'm happy enough with any of the candidates, as I don't even have any trademark hunches right now. I'll just give everyone a "told you I wasn't sure" look if they turn out to be good. (But obviously I'll share credit if we get a bad guy.)

@ Grim... Good to have you back!

@Rev Yeah, I agree. I'm only really voting to stir something up. I'm considering voting for Mr Russ just because he isn't contributing, but then that might be a wasted vote as he's likely to get mod killed anyway.

Its an unusual mix in this game

We have the DAC's who have to stay alive to win - no longer anything community spirited about them - which means as one you really dont want to start pushing stuff because it makes you a target.

We have the marines who are shooting / tracking in the dark to identify people ,if they get lucky and hit the aliens or company fine but its really just random at the start.

We have the company who want to kill the marines (BTW a rules question now - can the marines 'stop' this totally by role claiming and sealing the door each night - the aliens slowly take over enough so they then vote out the marines ?)

And we have the slow creeping menace of the Aliens taking over everyone.

Its likely we have an infected DAC at this point and they are staying quiet (which ties in with their win condition - theres no point in coming clean about it because they 'lose' and right now they are probably joining the better team) , and we'll likely have another tomorrow (unless the aliens target a marine in which case things start to get more interesting).

The marines can only seal the door once in the whole game.

We have the company who want to kill the marines (BTW a rules question now - can the marines 'stop' this totally by role claiming and sealing the door each night - the aliens slowly take over enough so they then vote out the marines ?)

Can't the marines only seal the door once, though?

Ah, I'd forgotton about that, it was a rule change from the first set wasn't it. Thank you.

And he said (or at least implied) that they had a kill role.

Again, this is most likely just due to rule confusion. I don't see why that's so controversial really - I know we're meant to have read them but there's a difference between reading them and it actually sinking in, especially with the similarity from the previous versions.

As a DAC you don't actually need to know much apart from "don't get lynched and don't look suspicious". On the contrary, I think anyone who is seems familiar with every detail is more likely to be in a "group", although it could be good or bad.

OTOH if you're going to explain a load of stuff like Zaphod just did it would seem prudent to actually have the rules open and refer to them :)

I'm sticking with my vote for now. I think it's shifty to try to lead the vote for someone (anyone, but especially if it's personal!), especially if you then climb down and start
agreeing with anyone that queries you.

That's my 0.01 credits' worth for the morning anyway.

I'm not particularly convinced either way, by anyone. The smallest comments can be misconstrued as being devious and can lead some people to point fingers and team up against a particular person. Having read through the game days posts, Curio seems to be blending in nicely but Mr Dom doesn't seem to be doing too well protesting his innocence.
Thats just my two cents. I'm going to wait a little again and see what goes on today.

Folks, it's worth noting that we're on a short timeline today -- the cut-off is 4pm. It's not rush time yet, but if people aren't going to be around, they should start paying attention.
