This thread is for discussion around the game, without any mention of suspicions of still playing persons etc.

Dead players please don't post anything you may have found out but not revealed.

Non-players welcome, but again no speculation about remaining players please.

Oh yeah - mods will still be able to edit. They'll get a stern glare if they do though.

I was starting to wonder why nobody was talking about this, then I noticed this little extra subforum at the top - this is a good idea.

Having played the last one, I skimmed over the rules very quickly, but was then forced to read them properly when GazChap pointed out there were loads of new roles.
*Goes to read rules properly*

Wow, there are a lot of roles now, some good ones though that should make it more interesting than last time and even if you get lynched on the first day by an overzealous mob, you might still get brought back to life.

I'm assuming the Mafia Roleblocker can carry out hits if he's the only Mafia left?
Can the cultists communicate via PM? So could they share any knowledge they picked up before they were recruited?

I think so too -- one big thread was a bit unwieldly for last time, it looked like (although I didn't play it). Now we can have a thread per day and a thread for rules and a thread for non-game chat. I think this is a very appropriate use of subforums.

No. The mafia roleblocker can never kill.

Yes, on both counts.

Ohh, ace! Another game started. It might be worthwhile adding a note somewhere to see this subforum, mind. I never noticed it and was wondering why I hadn't seen a Mafia Sticky.

Also : these new extra roles are going to change the balance somewhat...I need to sit down and absorb them all so I know what I'm looking for...

Do we need to unvote before we vote for someone using this new super-duper automated system? I assume not but just want to make sure. Also does it need to be in any particular format or on it's own line or does it just pick it up anywhere within the text?

Something I didn't get when reading though the last game were people's last message to the world/the diary entries. Were these something provided to you via PM by the deceased or something you wrote?

Hm. I have concerns about this setup, the town doesn't look at all strong and the cult looks potentially very strong indeed. But hopefully it will all be fine!

The new roles should keep it more interesting a bit longer. After the doctor and the cop both went on the first night, and then the serial killer. It was just a case of lynch someone in the day, hope it's not a townsperson, oops, wait for mafia to kill at night, repeat.

But like Mr Dave, I expect my mafia past will make me an early target.

No, any new vote will overwrite an old vote. As long as it is [vote:player] with no extra spaces, and no line breaks or extra tags in the middle, it will be fine. Any quoted votes will be ignored (because I'm super fucking awesome).

The deceased PMd them to me - they were just fluff, and had no game info in. The only one I missed was Kalmar's, because I saw the PM too late.

Craster, can we have a locked thread that breaks down the lynch voting each day, like the one you used to have in your sig during game I? Except you probably already thought of this.

It was actually Comical that had them in his sig. What I'll be providing is regular voting updates, as well as a final vote summary at the end of each day. Each day will be an individual thread, so it should be easy to see the summaries at the end of the thread.

Man, you're like two weeks too late!

Someone else will (hopefully) be running a game soonish after this one, I'm sure there will be room.

Everyone does, because you're all appearing publically as townsfolk, whether you have another role or not.

The inmate seems to have a very easy win condition. They could simply be killed by chance on the first day, and that'd be game over.

I feel sorry for the townies, being kept in the dark. Poor dears. Also, whoever gets the doctor role, watch your back.

More than 1 "team" can win so it's not "Game over" as such, just a personal victory for the inmate.

Not me at least.

I think the inmate has an easy time of it really, his only risk is the guard and the guard might die before he does. After that there's nothing to stop him winning, he just has to jump up and say 'I'm mafia! kill meeeee!' or something.

Also, I'm seeing interesting angles if the Serial Killer got recruited into the cult. Would they have two win conditions, or would they be a cultist, but also be a secret serial killer who'd have to off everyone in the cult? That would give the SK a more fighting chance, if they could play three teams against each other.

Hmm - my error there. I have updated the Cult Leader's description to say that they will fail if they try and recruit the SK.

Man, there are loads of roles now, cults, professors and allsorts. I suspect this game will go much slower than the last one, mostly because 50% of the players don't appear to have seen this sub-forum yet.
