If only the Serial Killer had done what I was banking on him to do and got rid of The Rev Owen and Plissken. You bar-steward, you ruined all my plans!

No surprises today. Gazchap turned to face his accusers with a look of resignation. In the spirit of forgiveness, the townsfolk decided that maybe everyone could just get along and enjoy the funfair after all, and they all went for a ride on the big dipper. And then threw Gazchap off the top.

Gazchap was the Mafia Godfather.

Town wins! Congratulations townies!

Final role breakdown:

The Rev Owen Doc
Mr Chris Townie
Gazchap GF
Joans Townie
Bluecup Townie
Zaphod79 Townie
Curiosity Goon
Myoptika Photographer/Lover
Mr Russ SK
Plissken Cop
Goddess Jasmine Townie
Runcle Hooker
ComicalGnomes Census
RichardGaywood Blackmailer/Lover
Dudley Townie
Mr Dave Goon
Lacesensor Townie
Spinglo Sponglo! Townie

Thoughts:

I liked that game, thought it went quite well - despite my 2 large fuckups (failing to count, and PMing a warning to Plissken that he was dangerously close to revealing himself as a blackmailee but posting it in the thread instead....).

I was disappointed that the lovers and the blackmailer died on the first night. My fault really, because the lovers are twice as likely to die, so I should have stopped the blackmailer being one of them. I would have liked to have seen how it played out though - in theory, it would have given the mafia a voting block of 7, which would have been very powerful (4 mafia, 1 blackmailee, and Myoptika who would likely have voted along with RG).

Brave but ultimately futile play from Russ and Gazchap at the end there. The town were so unbelievably lucky to lose 2 mafia to the SK, and for Plissken to correctly target the remaining two quite quickly.

Thanks all!

Thanks for the game Craster. I very much enjoyed it. I think it's my favourite game yet, and not just because I survived and won. I know we got very lucky, but I also think the town played a good game and for maybe the first time we worked together to win.

I want to borrow your coins. I managed to get a 50/50 choice for investigation wrong twice in a row.

First night I chose Mr Russ over RichardGaywood.
Third night I chose you over GazChap.

Good game Craster, thanks for that. Definitly more thought coming from the players this time around (apart from lynching me obv!). :)

Great game. I was considering playing the "Plissken's a Mafia goon!" card near the end there, but soon realised that there was just no way in hell it would be believed.

I might have :)
Even so, by that stage you didn't have the numbers to support it. If Mr Russ had been a townie then it might have been different, but I did say I suspected him on day 2.

I think next game we're going to have do something about the role-claims, because after this everyone's first post is going to be "I'm a townie"

Secret Diary of a Call Girl

Night 1 Hooker Duty

Hello, just calling to say I'll have to cancel our plans tonight sweetie because I've just had an emergency call off my regular client, The Rev Owen, who seems to be in urgent need of physical release. Although Im sure it will be the usual crying and him whining on about all his problems in his life, ah well at least its easy money.

Night 2 Hookerage

Hi Darlin', Im really in demand around this place and they wont let me leave here because the mayors been killed and have locked everybody in the town, so I cant meet you tonight. Ive still got a client tonight though called 'Comical Gnomes', whom seems to be telling everybody hes a somebody in this place, I guess after tonight I'll find out what kind of man he is. xxx

Night 3 Top Class Hooker

I'm a bit distraught that soon after I met my client last night that he was killed by some mafioso goon, the sad thing was that he was the real man he made himself out to be. What a stallion!, he had a great rage inside of him. Anyway Im still stuck in this dump and cant meet you again, but my repuatation is growing and I have a handful of customers giddy for my 'work', tonights lucky man is a guy called GazChap, whom seems a bit of an odd-ball, I hope last nights death doesnt put him off because I may start being called the black widow.

Night 4 Hooker Forever or Die Hard

Well todays client is a bit strange, hes awfully quiet but hes pulled me over to the corner dragging me over with his finger. He whispers to ask for my services and shows me a huge bit hard wad of cash, I followed him into a cart ont he waltzer. I heard theres a serial killer around, I hope it isnt this strange guy Mr Russ, I hope hes not like Jack the Ripper, hang on Mr Jack Russell? I think I know what hes after.

Night 5 The Last Hooker Hero

I feel my days are at an end, well in the fair at least, I grow tired of the attention of men but except one man, GazChap. I here he is in his last days. I feel he needs some loving at the end of his short life. I'd like to love him like he should be, till the sun rises, he doesnt need to pay, I hear hes bad but I like bad guys, the bad guys are the best, I couldnt vote for his death like the others, like I havent voted for anyone elses death, I'm a LOVER not a fighter.

Just to settle this by the way, I genuinely didn't receive a PM from Craster saying that I'd been roleblocked by the hooker. I'm assuming that Mr Russ actually DID (despite then saying he'd lied about receiving one).

When you fingered Curiosity, I was shitting bricks. You guys didn't know this, but Curio was actually away that day and wouldn't be able to get back to the thread to defend himself until midnight at the earliest. I knew I couldn't possibly defend him or I'd be sticking a big neon sign on my head saying "HEY! GODFATHER HERE!" so I had to stick a vote in and hope for the best.

When I (somehow) got reprieved thanks to Craster's mathematical error, my game plan was to hope beyond all hope that the SK would take out the Cop before he could finger me, and then hope that I could make it to the end of the game before the SK or townsfolk offed me.

I think by the time Curio died I probably had a 0.01% chance of actually getting the Mafia draw I was going for :(

I had thought about holding on to the info for a while during the game, but having been on his side in two previous games, he's too good a player not to have KILL IMMEDIATELY UNTIL DEAD DEAD DEAD stamped all over him.

I wanted him off the mafia email list ASAP!

I think the first one referred to me attempting to commit suicide by sleep-posting.
After Rev Owen claimed to be the doctor, I said we could just kill him tomorrow (meaning if we found out that he wasn't, then he'd only bought himself a day).
When challenged on this, I invented a post by Rev Owen saying how he expected the SK to go after him, so if he wasn't dead we'd suspect he was the SK.
Then I tried to confess that I'd managed to completely invent stuff, but I still got a few votes.

That's why I got Craster to make a post on my behalf on saturday, because if Russ hadn't turned out to be the serial killer, I expected Plissken to lead a vote against me and I think if you'd got me, then got it wrong again, there could have been a mafia/town draw.

Joans was getting very het up and squirmy - I had him pinned as the SK.

Plissken wrote:

The Godfather revealing himself in order to find the SK. In that position I'd possibly have argued for it - although on checking the rules for the town to win, the Godfather has to be dead. I initially thought it was that noone could kill at night. So I could have argued for a long prison sentence.

That was why I didn't want to reveal your name when I'd found it out - I thought the town would go for the immediate lynch a la Curiosity* and give the SK another night action.

* Did I mention I got Curiosity? And that I think I'm the first to get him killed in a game. Oh yes. Possibly I have. I enjoyed that.

Nope. Your only win condition that counted was the Lovers - which you both failed miserably.

Little more than a hunch. There were people like Curiosity, Mr Dave and yourself who were "there and not there". Normally the Mafia can hide in plain sight but the rapidly thinning numbers made that more difficult. I think on day 4 I investigated you after Runcle announced the roleblock just to make sure.

As people have said, the SK knocking out so many was a godsend for the town.

You had actually made my innocent list when you started accusing me at the end of day 2?, and it came off as a bit townie (so I thought), the only reason you got the vote was because Craster got the numbers wrong and you had to have been roleblocked that night (either as the SK or a goon).

After that though. there were too many people crying townie to all be townies, and like Mr Russ being cleared of being a townie, just because you weren't the SK didn't mean you were innocent.

I'm glad Plissken went for you though, because if Mr Russ hadn't been the SK, then me, Malc and Lace would all have been prime candidates for at least being one of the bad guys and if it had gone wrong it could have ended up with just you and a townie left for a draw.
