Well, one very subtle role reveal already - and a fair bit of bickering.

And Comical has effectively just given the Mafia a free night kill - himself.

Why do these people give clues? A group of people working together (mafia) are far more likely to pick up on your clues than individual townies are! It's like role revealing just to the mafia!

Daft, quite - and then the whole town (or some of them, anyway) then pointing out that they've noticed a clue and that someone's a townie?! Makes no sense - surely Plissken is a cert to be offed by the mafia sooner rather than later, now.

I also don't understand why people feel the need to do daft things when they're 'vanilla' townies - why is there no fun in waiting, seeing, and trying to work out who's who? Surely that is the game, even without 'fun' night actions and the like.

*ooOOoooOO* and all that.

As mentioned in the game, I wanted to try out throwing poo around to see how it works out. I have now learnt, it ends up badly. I just wanted to see if I can stir things up.

I think people are still very new to the game and there is nothing wrong with trying things.

Although I got the sense that most of the people voted for me despite thinking I'm innocent which I don't quite get. Although I don't mind dying because hopefully it bought out some info. Although I fear they will forget about me like last time.

When will people learn it's the "sort of there" people to watch out for? *waggles dead finger at gaywood*

Can they find a brand new and unopened copy of "How To Make Friends And Influence People For Dummies" found on my cold dead person please Craster :)

COCK IT

I've never actually been a townie, you know. But this "there but not there" is actually genuinely how I would play. It's not me trying to hide in plain sight, it's just me.

Sorry Matt :(

It's ok, I ballsed up anyway by too many 'clue' posts. Using 'dark room' probably pushed it too far...

I don't think it's too bad a start for the town, it depends if CG found out how many goons there are.

Interesting, the Maf considered gunning for you based on your hinting, until I convinced them they had bigger fish to fry with roles like the doctor and cop out there.

Did you own up to the Maf, RG?

Shame to lose 3 of my new 'make the game interesting' roles night 1.

Nope. I had mixed feelings about it, and decided it was more in the spirit of the role to keep schtumm until I had to.

Basically, everyone else, I had a PM discussion with Cras. I considered telling the Maf I was one of the Lovers and trading my support of them for protection for me and Matt.

No, you'd have the exact same information but it'd be a lot harder to make up and get away with it.

Yeah, I was banking on that. I don't think my role was particularly powerful compared with others'.

BTW I think we should see other people.

I think if I used the blackmailer again, I wouldn't tell the town he was in the game.

I think we should explore games where the role counts or descriptions are misleading.

Problem is that people playing this can sometimes get a little obsessed with 'teh rulez' rather than enjoying the game. Look how long it took me to persuade people that they weren't supposed to work out who was being blackmailed.

That may be inevitable, though - partly because most of us are new to the whole thing, but also because there are (and it's a great thing on balance, but there is bound to be some downside) new games each time. Not sure what the answer is; perhaps once a few more games have gone by there'll be a bit more repetition of games only with a few tweaks.

Is it safe to assume that all those bickering at the moment are townies? Can't imagine mafia getting involved in this sort of squabbling.

If he's not lying, the doc is still going to protect the now much more useful policeman and the mafia have an obvious power role to off.

Plus he's Comical.

True. If I was them I'd be hunting the doc/SK though, as the number of goons isn't really worth that much to the town.

True but comical (if not scum) is likely to also be good at rooting them out and while the town has a good majority, the SK will be after the townies too.

It'll be useful later - remember the game where both goons were offed early but there was still lots of (daft!) debate about what the mafia might be doing when in fact they were neutered - but then who's playing the long game?
