I think Mali is referring to zaphod's previous post about wanting to put "if anyone is going to pull the trigger give me 5 minutes to go back and see who is actually voting for me", but wondering where he was going to post it, not that he actually did.

My mistake, early morning reading is not good.

Possibly - I may go back through the thread and do it here while waiting for the next day to start (always the most frustrating part of playing this game).

I did post a 'beyond the grave' message about 1/2 way through Sunday trying to give the town some ideas *after* they found out i was really a townie - its about the 10th post on this page :

Oh right, yes, I remember now. A 'beyond the grave' message before you were dead.

Well i couldnt see it going any other way - no-one else was suspicious of sheep-y and he didnt collect any extra votes beyond 5 , also he didnt vote yesterday (i thought he would turn up last night and vote for me to finish it off) - once i went to about 7 or 8 votes it was a foregone conclusion.

The reasons given for voting for me :

comicalgnomes - would much rather lynch Joans but since no-one else wants to will go for me
craster - is convinced i'm bad because i'd have sacrificed myself on day 1 for a goon
gazchap - because if Joans is mafia he has to eat his testicles
goddess jasmine - "I'm not convinced he's bad though but in the interests of moving this along"
joans - Does not think i'm mafia but is still voting for me
lacesensor - Because i'm a viable lynch - happy to switch to joans (or anyone else)
mrak - no reasoning given (Lynch is one letter away from lunch)
runcle - "I'm bored and fancy moving this along"
spinglo sponglo! - its between joans and Zaphod and going with who has voted for who .....
Bluecup - was at least suspicious (saying my posts have become shorter?)

So for most people its because "your close to being lynched anyway" :-)

I think the quiet people look dodgy. And Jasmine too (if you weren't counting her).

I think someone pointed out that Mrak has only posted twice (once each day) basically just to vote - with nothing else - the quiet people are going to be the cult and some of the mafia

I'd bet theres at least one other mafia amoung the vocal people on there but theres no point in going after them - the town (and actually the mafia) need to get rid of the cult

And a request (probably for Grim... ?).

I would really like to know when the new day starts (both in the game and as a spectator)

You can subscribe to the forum and get an email alert when a new message is posted , but it happens for every message - i'd like an alternative one that will alert me when a new 'thread' is posted in the forum (which should basically be the start of each new day)

Your lynch was based on entirely false logic. The people vocally protesting someones lynching aren't going to be mafia, particulary as the person you're protecting is guaranteed to die at some point, while you're not until you do protest too loudly.

People were too easily led, and that doesn't bode at all well for a townie win. I'd be tempted to go for one of the "safe" people, as I doubt they will be for long, and they are good at leading people into doing their bidding.

Thats the thing - lots of the townies are always easily lead - on day 1 i was still thinking its possible that Craster or CG were trying to be really over the top and then tone things down and survive and can then point back at day one and say "If i really was a baddie would i be that loud" , but all it really needs is someone pushing for the kill and it to be wrong and the town will turn on them if someone pushes things the other way.

i.e. GJ said if i was a townie she would go for CG next day - which i dont really think helps the town (that would have been my post if i had got in there before the end)

I think they are just going to rattle each other around a bit and the cult is going to silently take over the town (i wonder if some of the mafia may start pointing out to the town they need to get rid of the cult or else) since in that way they are both on the same side.

I'm glad I locked it when I did, then. You shouldn't be posting once a verdict is reached.

I would not have posted once the final vote was cast - however GJ posted that before the end (about 1/2 way down page 10 and about 30 minutes before bluecup cast the final vote).

Oh and every time i see the forum has a new post by you i keep jumping in thinking the new day has started :-)

Even though we're dead, you're still toying with us.

Have you ever considered running a game of Bransons Balloon?

I think the trick is to look and see the poster and think if they were still alive in the game.....

However this is probably an apt moment to discuss an idea i had at the start of this game for a new role (partly because of the editor role which allows a character to have abilities in the forum which others do not)

Quote:
"I can see dead people"
A townie role who can read (but cannot post) what is written in the dead thread

Nothing is mentioned in here that would allow them additional knowledge of the game and it might make it more interesting to see what would happen after conversations in here.

Be interesting to try and deduce who it was from their posting style or comments compared with what we all say in this thread :-)

I see it as a powerful townie role and it would mean that at least one person on the towns side would have the benefit of a 'group' of peoples views (something the mafia and cult have which the town does not).I would also probably make it an unrecruitable role for the cult (the dead voices can undo the brainwashing?)

That's an interesting role, Zardoz.

Though the dead people will have to be VERY careful with what they say.

If you mean dead people who have knowledge of whats going on in the game - I agree , although that has always been the case because if you really wanted to 'cheat' i'm sure there are ways to see the dead thread - and *nothing* which actually carries any "non public" information should be posted in here.

Although that slip on typing may be such a piece of information (if you want to edit your post i'll blank out the name above :-)

Yes but if it is one and we find out later its another excuse to point and go "hurumph" at them for disrupting the flow of things.

Zardoz, Zaphod... it's all the same to me.

I got the seer vision PM last night, which told me that *PersonX* was cult. Unfortunately I totally misread it and thought it was a cult recruitment PM. I then went and PMd *PersonX* saying 'Hello! I'm in your cult now', getting a reply back copying in the whole cult identifying everyone.

So, I found out who the entire cult was, but wasn't actually recruited. Can't play on from there.

DUUUH!

That could well hand the game to the Cult.

Also, day one was enormous fun. Being a vanilla townie is so liberating, because you can be as ballsy as you like and it's no real loss to the town if you get called on it.

HAHHAHA.

Mind you, if it weren't so game wrecking, I'd be tempted to let that stand, because the belming cult person should have thought "but wait! we didn't try to recruit Craster!"

*PersonX* wasn't the leader - it was the person that was actually recruited that night, so they assumed that I'd been recruited night 1.

A shame, because if you had exploded it would have taken out the Cult Leader!

The SK, surely?

:?: Do you mean SK?

Also I had a feeling that I should of last night, but I guess everyone gets paranoid they are giving away scummy vibes in their posts.

But we figured my part in a mafia block vote > then me fulfilling my dream.

I already knew that you'd been targeted and had to use so much willpower not to say "are you sure?" when you told me you weren't blowing yourself up last night. :DD

Craster: the annoying thing is, if PersonX hadn't been recruited that night, you would've got a message with him/her saying "Town" instead. I'm sorry if it wasn't clear enough.

Suffice to say I won't be using my 'Gimme gimme gimme fried chicken' joke again.

Yeah, I just thought you were being weird. I'm not on my game today.
