Question! For work I'm trying to provide a comparative example for the size of a digital display we're installing (Twelve 55 inch 4K tvs, pixel fans).

The dimensions are 7.2m x 3.1m. Apparently this is roughly the size of a two-storey house on its side. Unfortunately, that is a bit of a cognitive leap to ask the reader to make.

My question - is there a website where you can type in an area or measurement, which will spit out real world things that share similar dimensions? Such as a bus, your mum etc? I had a quick fiddle in Wolfram Alpha but fear my spackiness confounded any real results.

Most people will recognise things in terms of double decker buses, rugby pitches, or the size of Wales.

hmm, unfortunately it isn't quite gigantic enough to be considered in the same breath as those. It's roughly the size of half a tube carriage. While this is a London installation I reckon most Londoners don't actually have a concept of the size of a tube carriage because you rarely see the whole from the outside.

Your display is 0.00010698301% the size of Wales.

Hope that helps :)

And that's the first time Wales has made me feel inadequate.

Noice. I worked out it's almost the size of four London Black Cabs, 2x2. Though that is stretching the word 'almost' a little.

It's as wide as 24 Ron Jeremy's cocks laid out end to end.

But even without that 4k display, it's much sharper!

Your display is roughly 1 whale penis tall, and 2 wide.

Have to ask that's what £50,000 or more on screens? What are you doing with them?

I (via work ) spent £65,000 on a Cisco HD video conference system a couple of years ago and got 2 65 inch screens for my money.

Also got an expensive system that didn't work with MS Lync fully, still that's because the "global" experts didn't get it right.

Advertising at an airport. Should look pretty sweet when it happens, assuming the myriad CMSs talk to it nicely.

Thanks everyone for your answers. I can confirm that the whale penis analogy was rejected out of hand. And that squirt is right, it is the same size as the skin of eleven humans. *leers*
