It's arguably the greatest cutesy 2D platform game since, well, that last cutesy 2D platform game that was released. What's its name? No, me neither. Spyro the Dragon? Lord knows, cause I never played it, although wasn't that in 3D?
Anyhoo, y'know what it's most like - only the greatest rootin' tootin-est platformer in the universe Super Mario World. And better than 'that game on the iPhone that I keep harping on about'.
He's slap bang in only the most lovingly sexy, hand-drawn drawings world ever created by people with hands, fingers and at least one good eye. The backgrounds are like oil painting filled with incidental detail. The effects are affecting. The enemies are 'bute cartoon characters with bags of character. Oh and the sounds are lifted from the greatest hand-held game ever made! No, that's Loco Roco, you loon. Rayman's got the Mario inertia thing on the soles of his dismembered feet. And it's facking rock hard later on with death always around the corner for the spaz-handed.
Did I really just get this for nowt through PS+? I'd probably pay actual money to play the darn thing and now I'm forced to bring my Vita to work just so I can steal some time away to get more pink fruit monsters.
Seriously, it's bloody lovely. Lushious. I bet you can even pick it up second hand for the Xbox at a cheap price. Quick, before it's too late. It's the perfect little handheld game though and anyone with a Vita and PS+ must get it now. In fact, if you're even contemplating a Vita at some point, download it on your PS3 now for keeps, cause it's, like, good and stuff. Actual good, not like that fake good where you play something for 5 minutes and get bored quickly cause some div on the internet recommended you play it and you're sore coz it cost you space coins or something. This is different, oh yes, cause, erm, I like it.
Here you go, you can have some video footage to keep you interested. If you're interested.
I didn't look very far but most videos have got 4 players playing it at once so it's a bit of a confusing mess or some tit talking over it in single player. I thought you'd appreciate a video sans tit. Still, four player might be fun, right?
No. I can't see any traditional platform game being made better with more players. Gamers, as we all know, don't know how to co-operate with each other.
I've beaten DS twice. But I see no reason to stop. There is so much depth and learning and interesting things to do. Far more than any game I have ever played.
