As you know, I am moving house. it is a shared house so basically I have my room , the rest of the house is shared.

I have a PC and Xbox. Now I don't have a lot of room for 2 screens etc.

What is the best compromise, I don't need it for live TV...

Not sure how much budget you have but I would go for a Samsung smart TV or similar.

I have a 32 inch as our 2nd TV, it has HDMI, VGA, and Composite so all you devices are covered.

Also most of them come with a Freeview tuner built in, I know you don’t want this now but you might change your mind later

They have smart apps such as Love TV and probably Netflix now so you are covered there as well.

32 inch here for £400

The rule for buying TVs is that you either go to John Lewis because they have industry leading 5 year warranty included with all their TVs, or go to amazon warehouse to get one that has had the box opened for much cheaper.

I bought my LG from Amazon Warehouse...supposedly the front had been damaged and it was discounted by over a hundred pounds. When it turned up there wasn't a scratch on it.

Would recommend.

Yeah, my experience is that they err very much on the side of caution with amazon warehouse descriptions, everything is more likely to be in better condition than they say.

Also, if you're unhappy with the condition, you can return it for a full refund.

Isn't the John Lewis thing that they price match?

That too. They don't match online prices, though (or they didn't (well, they did, then they didn't)).

They also (not unreasonably) point at their bonus warranty to exempt them from price match as the products aren't identical.

Well I get paid on friday, so I am tempted to get one from Tesco, one of their own brands. As not playing on the xbox is killing me

I have a Technika branded tesco telly. It's not bad. The picture is excellent, build quality is good and the osd is pretty.

Being a slim led model however means there's no room for a speaker bigger than a 50p coin, so externals are a must. Top tip: turn the sound up in the shop. Way up.
