the 5live webcam stream is too quiet for my desired listening location (here on the market) I want to boost the overall output volume of my PC (my speakers are at max). Is this possible? Considering winamp can do it, there must be some other program to do it right?

Open up the playback devices (by right-clicking on the speaker icon in the tray), right-click on your device, choose properties, then enhancements, then equalizer, then hit the "...", then turn them all up.

It'll distort to Hell, though. You can try switching on "Loudness equalization" too.

To a degree.

Suggest though that a decent pair of powered speakers may be a better investment.

I don't have room for the speakers here at the market. The speakers are just on a television that I use as a monitor. I use this so I can test consoles as well. Also there didn't seem to be an ehancement option or equalisation.

Get a better TV. Or buy a Mac. The speakers in my 2012 Mac Pro are awesomeness for the size.

You could try one of those 'turn a hard surface into a speaker' speakers

A large hard flat surface? But would you be willing to loan your forehead out?

Nah. Just a nice set of small powered speakers would do fine.

You do also get good output from those little ball shaped ones which are USB powered and easy to shove in your pocket when you leave

Something like this

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0045OWI0C/r ... B0045OWI0C

I'm sure you can get one for about £8 or £9 and might work out better for your circumstances.

True enough - maybe not loud enough for a busy market, though.

I've got a Cisor BT5 and while I love the voodoo involved, it never worth £100.

I have one of those and it's great. Very loud for the size of it but beware, I've seen unbranded ones which aren't as good.

I love that! Not as much as I'd have done when I was 13, but still. Brilliant!

I was hoping there might be a free method as I don't like spending money.

You just know that it has a slot underneath for 10 or so C Cells that probably last all of 10 minutes with the CD players fired up.

I was actually thinking that myself. It looks like something in Kays catalogue that my fifteen year old self would have lusted after.*

I had one of these and had a jack to phono lead to plug it into my Amstrad.

Image

The Ninja Massacre music with the bass turned all the way up was awesome.

Speccy version I know but the AY music is identical other than the CPC output using 2 channels not 1.

I used to dream of stuff like that. Connecting stuff to other stuff. There was a competition in Gamesmaster to win a surround sound rig (ostensibly for your console), and I'd read the Gamefreak stuff in Super Play. Connectivity!
