I have a cunning plan for finally quitting smoking - tried several times and failed, this time I feel I have to play silly mind games with myself, probably stupid, but if it works I'll post what I did, otherwise back into hiding with a carton of cigs and a very large ashtray.

I wish you the best of luck with that MrC.

My new years resolution is to finally complete a Zelda game.

Cheers! I'm guessing my resolution might be easier, though...

I don't usually go in for new years resolution stuff, but a couple of things will be different this year.
With the impending wedding, I need to get into shape so the running will start again, and after the death of my mate i've decided to say yes to a lot more stuff and not be as humbug about going out and doing shit, as the old cliche goes, you don't know how long you have left.

I'm also going to do a proper tumblr blog for the whole of 2013. I'm going to write about a game a week for the entire year! I'm taking a random game from my collection and I shall be writing about it. I'll explain why I own it or why it's special to me. There'll be some good games in there along with some bad ones too and fingers crossed, I'll keep it up all the way through 2013.

I don't have any resolutions, I do have a few goals I want to achieve in the first half of the year, but I've already been working towards them;

Get new job (interview tomorrow)
Move house (can start looking as soon as I hear back from interview)
Reach target weight (ongoing, already back on the wagon so to speak after Christmas, but with four stones to go not surprised if it takes me more than six months)
Finish masters (last exam in April)

The usual for me - cut out the gambling. I'm as optimistic as ever with it.

You did so well going for twelve months, I'm optimistic that if you did it once you can do it again. :)

I'm not buying anymore model kits / miniatures until I've built / painted the ones I have.

Keep up with my daily walks and think of other ways of keeping active that I can fit into my daily routine.

Keep up with my reading, and if I have time read more.

I'm going to make a bangin' techno tune this year too, maybe.

I need to paint more (I always say this), finish off the tattoo drawing for MrsMarkG too...

Going to be busy this year. :)

Derren Brown's invisible cards thingy is quite impressive and works 99& of the time. It doesn't seem to be on youtube anymore and my google skills have failed to find a text version, but I could probably explain it it vaguely and badly if you want.

Was that a "yes please" to my magic trick comment? If so, I'll happily give it a shot early tomorrow morning, have to go cook any minute now.

Ooh, I shall most certainly be watching this one.

I should do something similar myself (*glances at heaving game shelves with loads of unplayed games*) but I, er, have this old war wound...

Mali, I've PMed you the magic trick as the explanation turned out to be rather long and rambly.

Be healthier and happier

Save money

Complete my Certificate in Insurance and seriously consider doing the Diploma

Be good to my friends & family and see more of them both, but also make time for myself (impossible balancing act coming up!)
