As you say, "sort of" - Rev Stu was just one of those involved in the development of Hell Yeah!

Looks good though, might just give it a try. :)

Does it involve KP Discos, McCain Micro Chips and Haribo Sour Mix?

Doesn't look like a PC game to me, if you see what I mean. Is it coming out on consoles?

Oh he was involved with this? I had a go of it at Eurogamer Expo and was very impressed.

Save a couple of quid by getting it from here: http://savygamer.co.uk/2012/10/01/hell- ... t-pc-7-99/

If you mean the three rats with those names that he listed as consultants to get more money, then yes.

A harmonious dev team spirit?

Or possibly just a childish obsession with junk food and sweets; you know, the kind of stuff that most of us grow out of when we're about ten?

I think I'll wait until it goes free to play, I'm not paying £2 a month.

Or hey! Maybe someone cost host it for free like that train spotting game!

I hear that this might be one of the games you get as part of a PS+ subscription. I have a couple of months free trial, so I will probably grab it with that.

According this May 2012 interview with Arkedo co-founder Camille Guermonprez:

http://www.nowgamer.com/ps3/ps3-preview ... eview.html

"We’ve been working with him (Rev Stu) for the last year on all the dialogue and the monster index of all the hundred monsters that you kill"

Hopefully, he'll be heavily involved in quality control. Any mention of it on WoS? I'd look, but I'm eating my lunch.

Do you reckon that's Stu's work though? Seems a tad too diplomatic to me. :D

We should totally try and make our own game and see if we can do it without succumbing to infighting and flouncing. Voting will be the only way to make decisions, I feel.

The main game mechanic should centre around changing the flow of time, like Blinx or Prince of Persia (episode something or other). I've never played these games.

Yeah, I'm about halfway through it and it's great fun, and frequently hilarious. Try the demo!

I actually didn't want to like this. I don't know why since I've got nothing against SC, and still like reading some of his stuff, but hating him seems to be the done thing so I went into this with little expectation even though he's had little to do with how the game plays...

...but bugger me, it's not the Sonic-esq gameplay that made me like it, it's how funny it is. I've no idea how much of a hand in the dialogue he had (as I've only read he did the monster's back story) but it's cheerfully arrogant and brash. I've just spent time reading the weapon/power-up descriptions which I wouldn't ever bother with - Christ, who would - devouring the descriptions like when I used to read a copy of AP from the front page including the contents in detail to the very back.

I can't say the Sonic style gameplay left me sweating in my under crackers but it was ok. I've never been a huge sonic fan anyway, much preferring the Mario games, but this was a really good homage.

Overall, nice.

I can clearly tell how some of the folk here feel about Stuart Campbell, but I'm left wondering if a lot of others make fun in a slightly teasing 'banter'-ish way, in that they don't hate him but enjoy laughing and poking fun, yet still also enjoying his work.

I may be wrong but I don't think many actually hate him, but I'd reckon a lot dislike some of their encounters with him.

Hate?

Nah, not at all, though he does hate me lol.
No, I hope this game is a success for him, though it's certainly not my cup of tea by the looks.

I might buy this, it looks pretty interesting, and I've got a bit of a gap in my gaming itinerary at the moment.

There's a limit to how much Counter Strike one can play, and the new WoW expansion just hasn't done it for me at all.

Amazes me how anyone's actually bothered what he thinks though - about anything?

He's been spouting the same Sixth Form Common Room, naive, boilerplate nonsense for the last 10 years or more IMO, entirely unmodified as far as I can tell, be it about politics, games, sport or sweeties/crisps/fizzy drinks. If he were any wetter behind the ears he'd require a blowhole and dorsal fin.

I guess for most of us, we learn/evolve throughout our lives from meeting different (real) people, principally through our work/careers, but also through social interaction, seeing different places/cultures/countries, our relationships and all the rest. Our eyes are opened through the experience and wisdom of others; in my own case I am a very different animal to the man I was 10-15 years ago. I've moved on.

However, if you near exclusively spent your days plugged into Twitter/the Internet, I guess that, over time, that can lead to a pretty closed mind and skewed perspective on things? I dunno; not bothered either way to be frank.

Each to their own Cavey, I check wosland every couple of days in the hope there'll be something new to read :)

Some the content he produces is superb IMO.

http://wosland.podgamer.com/we-arent-the-99/

Quote:
The Great Division was Thatcher's ultimate victory, turning society into a minority unable to defend itself against millions of simultaneous individual assaults. With this terrible weapon at its command, Thatcherism consumed and obliterated all meaningful political opposition in the United Kingdom, subverting the Labour and Liberal parties into hollow echoes of itself. It will live long after her death, and when the Bank of England finally runs out of pretend money to print it will damn almost all of us as surely as it has already damned the 33%. And in that sense, if not the one that was intended by those who coined the phrase, perhaps we are the 99% after all.

Well exactly mate, case in point. I haven't bothered with the link - I've heard it all before - but it's just the same old childish nonsense as ever IMO. I could take issue with it (well, before I was banned that is), but I've done it a thousand times before and all he ever does is evade, cherry pick half of one sentence out of a couple of pages, and even then quote it out of context, clumsily adding spin like some YTS would-be sub-editor of some tabloid or other, before trumpeting how he's "won the debate" and/or I'm a troll?

I'm all for flogging a dead horse and/or fighting lost causes with the best of 'em, but after a decade of the above, even I seriously cannot be remotely arsed.

But he links off to a load of evidence in that article, and as it happens I completely agree with him, having grown up in a not exactly prosperous area of North Manchester under Thatcher in the 80s, I think he's bang on the money.

Yes, I know your politics mate and I have no problem with that - in your case. We disagree, of course, but I respect your views because, basically, you know what you're talking about, for one. Also, it's perfectly possible to have a debate with you - even a heated one - with mutual respect and without your deliberately avoiding to address great swathes of your opponent's entire argument etc.

See I've never had a problem with him, we worked together on the Fairplay campaign and he was diligent, industrious, straightforward and communicative, and he managed to get the issue pretty well exposed in the national media in the UK, both print and TV. And we did get a real change enacted with the warning about how the machines cheated being put onto every new AWP and retro-fitted as a sticker to all existing AWPs. To this day, every AWP produced has to have that warning on it.

I think there's a lot of truth in what he's always said that if you don't treat him like a twat, he won't treat you like one. Someone always kicks off on him first, in my experience.

Well like you said mate, you pretty much agree with every word he's ever said, about anything, so I guess the scope for disagreement is somewhat limited. I could continue but really, there's no point and anyway, I'm not very comfortable with it. He isn't here to speak up for himself so I'll leave it there, I think. Like I've said, despite all that I happen to believe, I don't wish him any harm. I hope this game of his does well.

It's not his game, he only wrote some stuff for it as far as I've read. You should try it though as it's alright.
