Looking to get a touchscreen tablet for Little Miss Dom to play on, as she loves playing with my Transformer Prime.
I started looking at the special kids ones (VTech), but then googling for budget android tabs I came across a many glowing reviews of Ainol tablets.

Their latest is the 'Novo 7 Fire'
Dual core, 1280x800 screen on a 7" tablet for £120
(They have added a rear 5MP camera, higher screen res, and metal casing to the predecessor, Aurora II, which can be had for £90. Seriously, a 1.5GHz dual core 7" tablet for £90!)

I just don't know if I can live with the name tho...

I'm sure I saw something about them yesterday on Hotukdeals for some silly amount like £60 (and was tempted but I dont need another pad)

Also, nuts to preloaded stuff :) she's only 2 and a half so she likes really really simple games (hang the matching sock on the washing line, tap the bubbles to pop them)
With Android, I can download just the games she wants, use app protector to stop her being able to change any settings, hopefully work out ways to hide the status bar popup and other stuff. Plus shortcuts so she can just open iPlayer straight to cBeebies.

There are child friendly launchers like this and this for Android which should make it pretty easy to lock things down however you want and make it easy for her to access the stuff she is allowed into.
