Help!
Been away for a week. Come back, wireless working fine, however cannot connect via wired.
My connection says ip4 and ip6 connectivity has no network access, but my DNS is correct, and i can't connect to the netgear router via ip

Any ideas, as im stumped, i've already tried a different router/lead

Possibilities that I can think of:

Physical port on router is fucked - try plugging the cable into a different port
Physical port on accessing device is fucked - try the same cable and router port with a different device
Driver issue with physical port on accessing device - check device manager to see if it all looks cool and maybe remove device and allow Windows to reinstall it on next boot

i juat system restored and that seems to have 'fixed' it. bizarre, assuming it's setting related or firewall related as computer ran a massive scan when i got back.

Random interjection - do you run McAfee? A McAfee update stopped my father-in-law's machine accessing the internet last week, and every sign said it should have been working fine. Uninstall McAfee, and everything springs back into life.

Cheers chaps, another problem solved thanks to BEEX!
McAfee just tried to start another update, which must have been the cause, so knocked that on the head!
