Now we have some hot, cross platform action for Words With Friends, I think it might be useful for us to list our usernames openly in the spirit of friendship. When Wordfeud goes cross platform, we can use that too.

I am DavPaz. I am an Android.

AlarmBee - Android
Consolemad - Android (Devilman)
Curiosity - iPhone

Words with Friends app on Android is currently utterly atrocious! I'm not going to use it over WordFeud until things are improved. If either (a) it improves dramatically or (b) the cross platform version of WordFeud comes out soon and everyone uses that, then I'll join the cross platform gaming crew.

I am Nemmiie I held my finger on the i too long.

Wordfeud does seem a lot more user friendly though I am willing to lose on both.

Nemmie on wordfeud. Would love to give anyone a game apart from Alarm because its demoralising. ;)

Actually, having played with it... I agree. It's crappy. Crashes, network drop outs and mucho adverts.

I agree. I've just installed it, tried searching for "davpaz" and it force closes that bit every time. How much of this is DavPaz' fault, I do not know.

I am AlarmBee on it (my Twitter nick; amazingly "Alarm" was taken). Though I think I'll stick with Wordfeud for now...

Surely it isn't this bad on the iPhone version?

I'm willing to assume not, given how much it was raved about when it first came out.
It is perhaps telling that there's not a massive queue of iPhone users in this thread

I don't remember any such issues, and I surely would if it was that bad. I just can't be arsed with Scrabble, so don't want to join in.

It's largely fine on the iPhone with occasional issues of not being able to reach their servers or something, but pretty much it works all the time.

I don't think this is that bad. Sure, it'll take a little getting used to but I haven't had it crash on me or anything like that.

Also, to shuffle the letters.. simply shake your phone! Clever!

Install Words With Friends, create an account in-app, then stick the account name in this here thread. Or send game invites to other folks that have stuck their account names in here.

This is one of the many wrong things with this app. Where are the options to disable the sound, animations, etc?

Why do I have to tell it twice when I want to submit a word?

Wordfeud isn't perfect, but I much prefer it to this.

What? You must be playing some version of it I don't have, as most of those things don't happen to me.

It's a great game.

I can beat anyone I play almost all of the time.

Apart from DBSnappa.

He's, like, the GOD of Words With Friends.

Seriously. He played one game without a single word under 40 points.

Further niggles - why on earth would I want my gmail contact list in the game? Why cannot I create my own friend list like on Wordfeud?

i'm romanista. I'm on iphone. It's nice there. Challenge me, as i suck, not being english-native et all (you think your english is allmost native-style fluent, and then you start getting beaten at words with friends. beaten decisively... but i beat you guys in the dutch, italian and frisian versions, losers*)

* if they would have existed, obv.**

Gosh, I’m really tempted by this but I must resist – word games in general are evil and horribly addictive. I don’t even want to think how much time I’ve spent playing Word Scramble against 50-100 random people from all over the world and I opened a Facebook account just to play Scrabble on it with friends.
The main argument against it, though, is that DBSnappa is good at it. I spent months creeping up on his GW2 Deadline score and got within a million of it before the bastard added another 15 or so million.
Or maybe I should sign up and only play against Romanista and hope that he’s not being cunningly modest about his English skills?

Ofcourse, mrC, it's all a big trap. But you might be james bond and can escape it..

to be clear, i'm not exactly modest about my english skills. I think you won't find a Dutchman speaking it more fluent and less "dutch-english" that easily*, it is just in games like this you notice your vocabulary it relatively small compared to a native english speaker, and thus while not having trouble find okay words, the big points elude me..

* remember, we're the country were everybody speaks okay english, but think they speak it brilliantly, leaving us being tricked at negotiating tables and have a prime minister opening his speech in Westminster, by a ten minute praise of undertakers, not realising he meant entrepreneurs.. (undertaker is the literal translation of the dutch word for entrepreneur, ondernemer - under=onder, nemen = to take),

I've been to Holland lots of times (OK, to be fair, mostly going through Holland heading for somewhere else), but I've always found Dutch people charming, polite and helpful, and very good at speaking English (so the language clichee is true in my experience).

We could meet halfway and play the game in German?

I have family in Holland and in the few times I've visited, I've come to realise that yes, it's true, everyone speaks passable english (expect one Taxi driver in Arnhem, weirdly)

What's weirder is everyone knows that you're English without you speaking. Either they're psychic, or my string-vest-knotted-hanky-on-the-head-rolled-up-trousers-socks-with-sandals outfit was a dead giveaway.

Panty flash, yeah!

Stupid Sexy Thrusilver, stop flirting with Kalmar.

I'm on Android playing against iPhone owners and it seems to be working fine and I've been on 3G all day with 3 games on the go, I'm on Wifi now with 6. In fact, the only problem I've had has been with David Pazzlington but it's only had to 'force close' once.
