I think this is excellent fun so far. It's available for a ten pounds or thereabouts and I think anyone who enjoys an arcade racer/Burny Pee type of affair would be fool to pass it up. The whole premise is obviously stupid but the shifting game mechanism works really well.

I'm sure it'll get frustrating due to random traffic accidents interfering with races and I'll probably give up on it way before the end but I reckon I'll get a tenner's worth of joy from it.

I was really tempted by this but the fact it's on a classics label puts me right off.

It'll spoil the look of my collection.

I quite enjoyed it for the time I spent with it. Like most games, I stopped playing for some unknown reason and never went back!
Like you say, the shifting mechanism is ludicrous, but actually works well and certainly puts a bit more interest into the storytelling.

I have Hitman: Blood Money and Rainbow Six Vegas on the Classics label and they do indeed look shit on the shelf.

I bought Halo Wars off eBay thinking it was the "proper" case but it wasn't. Gutted!

Platinum games on the PSone were the worst for ruining a collection.

Aside from the fact that this is all some OCD insanity the spine looks precisely no different to many of my other games.

Err, what? It's silver with white type, as opposed to white with black type. In fact, the games out there with 'custom spines' have them removed once they go to Classics, and you get the shit silver with white again.

Err, no. It isn't. It's white with black type, it looks pretty much exactly the same as the original release R6V2 is happens to be sat next to. Am I going to have to post a photo?

Actually there are 3 classics in there. Lego Indy 2 is a classics, but only has the grey shit on the upper part of the spine saying "Xbox 360", the rest is just white with the game name in boring font of boringness.

Next time I come up to yours I'll swap your classics cases for my normal ones of Hitman and Rainbow 6, if it's bothering you.

If it had bothered me that much I'd have traded them in and got 'proper' ones. :P

But thank you. :)

It had the best light out of all the upstairs rooms.

Soulblade's in a noticeably smaller case. That'd drive me up the wall.

Got. completed the main story line in one go, but theres a shit ton of side story stuff to do and I'm actually looking forward to it :D really enjoyed the story, its got "previously on driver" updates all the time to stop you forgetting whats happened which is ace and the side missions all have little stories what keep them interesting.
Whats really good though is the way the cars drive, you can fling them into corners and drift in clouds (the tyre smoke is the best i've ever seen) of impressive smoke and awesome noise. I will be completing the side missions in a game for once I think!

Downside: Ubisoft seems to want my monies to play multiplayer online (correct me if I'm wrong) which is lame and rubish of them and negates beex-play :(

Nope, Ubisoft fucked up the codes for the first batch of games so game doesn't need an online pass.

But I agree, I loved the game, my favourite driving game of last year.

£20 on Steam, worth a punt would you say?

After the crushing disappointment of Alan Wake, I need something to pep up my gaming senses again.

I see the console versions run at 60FPS, which is unusual but very welcome. (Burnout Paradise for example I got on with fine on the 360, as that's a 60FPS game too.)

As much as I like the extra graphical finery that PC versions bring, my main bugbear with a lot of console games is the 30FPS (if that!) framerate, which genuinely gives me a headache.

I think I'll pop into GAME tomorrow and see if they've got a 360 copy going cheap, as that'll mean I can play it on the big telly with 5:1 sound whilst chilling on the sofa, which is my preferred way to play games.

I'd be crushingly disappointed too if I'd spent twenty-two flippin' pounds on a superzomg edition of a port of an average game too. However, I spent a fiver on it for its lead platform, so I expect I'll get some value out of it.
