I was looking at the Cookbook thread, trying to find a recipe.

Would it be useful for the big threads to have an "index" that we could click on to just to the right post? We could use it in the movie thread and the car thread, too, along with others.

It would require people building the indexes, though (by which I mean clicking an 'index' button on a post and then typing in what it is).

I know you can search threads, but that doesn't help if you can't remember what the thing you're looking for is called!

How do you search specific threads, by the way?

Also, can we get a new field in our profiles for a list of our favourite games of all time? Then if someone is harping on about a game, we can use that to work out if we have similar taste!

It's be a useful addition I think, there's been a few times I've been looking for something but had a right job finding it, even when you know what it is you're looking for without a 'good' search term it can be a royal pain in the arse.

Open the thread, bottom left of the page (on the standard template).

Aha! I always assumed that was just another general search button. It should say "search within this thread"!

There's one under the 'Twitter ID' box.

If only there was some way to group all the posts on a given specific topic into "threads" and then gather all the "threads" that fit together into a sort of "child forum" that sits below the main forum. Something like a "sub-forum", if you will.

That's crazy thinking!

I've been saying for years that a couple of sub-forums would make BEEX an infinitely nicer place for the less 'hardcore' visitors, and make it a lot more welcoming for new folks too.

It'd probably make it more usable/searchable for the regulars, too.

Hmm. We argued before about the tagging, and mandatory tagging in order to be able to filter stuff being a no-starter. Voluntary tagging of individual posts is a nice idea though. Being able to grab every post that the user has tagged as a recipe, or a review, or a crotch shot would be a rather nice idea, I think.

<looks for tag option to show all posts where Craster scale = 1>

We could have some sort of thumbs up / thumbs down system as well. What could possibly go wrong with that?
