Ok I need to buy Abbas a decent machine for £400 tops desktop or laptop no preference.
I have been spending the last hour browsing websites & can't make my mind up :(

I was looking at this on ebay because I havea 10% voucher I can use to bring it down to £360
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270841767645? ... 926wt_1396

or this which comes in at £386
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dell-inspiron ... 442wt_1396

I'm in no rush to buy yet so may wait to see what I can get in the sales

I'll now crawl back into the basement....

Both of those look pretty decent though I'd suggest it's worth the extra few quid to get the i5 rather than i3.

The i5 was a as new stock so i'll not bother with that. I will keep looking & wait to see if any deals appear over the next few days

I picked up a toshiba sat pro i5 in the amazon black Friday sale for £460. It pretty pro, and although it was a deal, indicative that it will probably come in that price on the high street soon.

I've no doubt that I've paid a quality premium compared to other same spec laptops from other makes, but I do plan to actually move it around quite a bit so having a solid but lightweight build rather than a flimsy Inspiron is worth it.
