Right, so, what's to stop me buying one of these mifi things? and a one plan sim and put the 2nd in the 1st and get unlimited wireless broadband for £25 a month for multiple wireless devices? Malc

Nothing at all.
I use one of those mifi dongles with my work sim (although it cost £30 when I bought it!) You can even unlock them to any sim for about £7 at dodgy shops or dodgy websites.
Range is about 5m in real use, and it can only handle 4 devices at once, IIRC.
