Over the years I have accumulated several boxes of spare computer bits, which, realistically, I'm unlikely to have much use for in the future.
I don't think any of them are worth ebaying (particularly as I don't know whether or not they work, and I can't be arsed to construct a pc to test them), so I thought I'd offer them to you lot before freecycling them. This is more aimed at the people coming to the cottage next month, but if you're not and there's something you fancy, I'm sure some kind of arrangement can be made.

So, without further ado, the list:

Gigabyte 7600GT PCI-E graphics card
2x 512MB DDR PC3200 sticks of ram
ASUS A8N-E motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ cpu (currently attached to the above mobo)
Avid readers may recognize those as the components in my pc when it stopped working sometime around the end of 2008 (if I even mentioned what the components were)

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ cpu
ASUS A7N8X motherboard complete with some kind of cpu and a very large (and rather dusty) heatsink.
A very short VGA cable (one end male, one female, possibly for use with a 3D graphics card)
What looks like a PS/2 plug to phone socket. No, I don't know either.
Numerous sata-related cables that I should perhaps consider keeping - asfish
An i1394/Firewire backplate for connection to one (or possibly both) of the above asus motherboards
2 x vga - dvi dongle thing. - Grimothy
Numerous IDE cables
2 x usb - PS/2 adaptor (1 green, 1 purple!)
A cooler master A9225-36RB-3AS-L! heatsink and fan - looking surprisingly shiny and only a bit dusty
A serial port backplate - I'm assuming for connection to the ASUS boards.
2 x backplates with 2 usb ports - again, probably for the ASUS boards
A third usb backplate with a midi/game port
A lot of (empty) anti-static bags - asfish

I reserve the right to sell any of this stuff if I discover it works and is worth money.

I may want to keep one for emergencies, I might have a 3rd one lying around though.

Always handy to have.

Is that a socket 939? If so, I've got that motherboard, and the x2 3800+, and they are still kicking it in my 'big' PC. I did have to replace that noisy little northbridge fan.

I was mulling it over, but then I'm not really sure that changing to that CPU would be enough of an upgrade to bother, really. Other than bunging in some extra hard drives I think I'll just let this PC run until it dies. At the moment it's only a web browsing/torrenting/media storage box anyway.

Can you see kettle leads in the list?
Just pinch one from the cottage (after we've finished with the kettle).

Dave, I'm going to have to insist that you only communicate via text over the weekend, or at the very least, randomly replace words in your sentences when you're speaking.
