My nephew has taken a load of pictures of his Lego Star wars figures.

From what I understand he has done this a bit like they do when making Wallace and Grommet, so he takes a picture, moves the Lego figures arm a bit, takes another picture etc

Is there any photo\video software that can help put these together into some sort of film?,

Think rank amateur not Hollywood production before replying! (me not him)

Flash. The last time I used it it used frame by frame animation.

It took a few hours to get the gist of it, but basically it involves time stretching and key frames. Once you get your head around that it's just clicking the next frame and adding the next picture in the animation sequence.

What systems do you have available? There are decent stop-motion apps for iOS, for example.

Windows Movie Maker (AFAIK) and iMovie will allow you to make animations from JPEGS.
