I tried the demo and thought "Fuck me this is a bit good" - explodey bikey 2d gubbins so I sprung the 1200 points for it and it's exactly the kind of game that should be on XBLA.

It's a simple game with right trigger for giddy up, left trigger for whoah neddy and the left stick leans your man and subsequently the entire bike. Y makes you launch off the bike for some Flatout style mini games and general amusement.

Using those simple controls and some cracking physics and levels you have to get from A to B in the fastest time possible negotiating jumps, collapsing scenery and the distraction of a GW2 style indicator at the top telling you how far ahead/behind you are of your nearest/best? (unsure of yet) leaderboard chum. The levels range from 15 seconds to a minute so far and shaving time off through landing your rear wheel just so is proving massively addictive.

So hurry up and get it everyone. If you don't like it - you're wrong.

I had a text about this today from Microsoft! It sounds like the kind of game I'd like!

E.g.... Simple.

Shame it's too expensive really. Would've been an impulse buy at 800 pts.

I've bought this too. I really hope it will scratch that itch that me and trousers share when it comes to arcadey goodness.

Plopped down the 1200 I had saved for Shadow Complex but housebound at present and I need something to distract me.

This is indeed good. Purchased. Reminds me of sciving off work to play the flash game.

Yeah, it's very much like a flash game I played. But better.

Great stuff.

I wasn't going to buy this on principle but after playing the demo and now the full game, it's certainly worth the 1200 points. I see that Trousers has already found his way to the upper reaches of most of the leaderboards...

Man, I hate this game. You're going along, setting a good time, and then you look up, and see that dastard Jonarob is still beating you.

Any game which wilfully pushes the fact that Jonarob is better than you in your face deserves hate.

I love watching this on TV so I'll give it a go.

EDIT: Amusing, but not worth 1200MSP. 800, yes, instant sale.

It would likely drive me insane, though... that you can instantly restart the race will cause my perfectionist twitch to kick in as I desperately try to beat Trousers' top times.

Seems to be a reasonable amount of us already on the Leaderboards - which is nice! (Currently 2nd overall, that will be in freefall from now on.)

Spent about half an hour to get a gold on medium. This game might seriously suck me in...

Yup it is Trials 2 Second edition on 360. Glad though, Redlynx deserve every penny for this game. Sheer genius.

Things that are good:

1. This game.

2. All of Trousers' times on this game.

3. Ring of Fire mini-game.

I've actually reached the point where I just associate the word 'Trousers' with #1 on a hi-score list.

'Trousers' is 'AAA' for the 21st century.

When I turned of my Xbox I was beating him on the overall rank on trials. But these are just temporary blips until equilibrium is achieved.

It will be ages before I challenge anyone on the overall rank - I am obsessed with nailing each track as best as I can before I move on. That instant restart is possibly the most dangerous thing ever - divorce beckons.

If you don't fancy 1200MSP there's a really similar game with monster trucks as an indie game for 200.

I don't think my 'back' button has ever seen so much use. :)

I didn't even know there was an overall rank - I've been doing it track by track too.

It reminds me of Super Scramble Simulator or a less-bugged Kikstart 2.

I thought it was going to be horribly anal like N+ but it's not, it's all fun and stuff.

*sigh*

It makes the same killer mistake the full PC one did over the flash one. It's an effectively 2d game but you can't view it side on. Your bike fucks off to the right and in then it throws a million "hey look we're clever" pyrotechnics at you and you can't see a fucking thing half the time.

Ah well.

Ok at least the pyrotechnics get cut down in the later demo levels but it's got a lovely habit of stupid camera angels to obscure the bit where you're going to land.

An option to fix the camera and turn off the backgrounds would make this pretty much the best thing on XBLA.

I know what you mean about the jaunty camera angle, but I don't find it too bothersome because it's only an issue the first time you play a stage. Second time round (and third, and fourth, etc.) you know where the jumps are, which is pretty much the point. Retry, retry and retry again.

That's way too close Rick Dangerous on bikes and worse, not a problem the original suffers from.

Just played Splosionman for the first time, now THAT'S how the camera works in a 2D game.

Further inspection reveals the PC version DOES let you lock the camera, so it's been inexplicably removed. The PC version also lets you turn off most of the distracting graphical frippery.

The lack of visibility in some places is certainly a downside for me. One track has a long drop onto several flat platforms and it's not easy to make out where one starts and one ends so if I get through that bit unscathed it's usually down to luck. I may have to play with the brightness settings a bit and see if it helps.

However there are other bits where you ride behind stuff in the foreground so if you need to adjust your rider position, it's tricky.

Still a great game though. I may not have said that if I hadn't finally done 'Let's get physical' without faulting though. ;)

Even more annoying if you get it and it doesn't register.

Got the Trials master one, which took some doing. Market meltdown wasn't that hard - although I got the hard checkpoint while grinding down on my face, so I may have been a bit lucky.

However, the hard levels have gone beyond fun and into not-fun. And the developers seriously need to learn the meaning of the word 'tutorial'. I'm still none the wiser on how to complete the hard tutorial. The pictures say nothing.

I haven't managed that hard tutorial either - I can only get as far as the second bit where I simply can't get enough height/speed to get up onto the platform.

But having gone back and played the PC version again, the 360 one is massively more forgiving and the bike thing I mentioned does seem largely true.

I think all this would be a lot more forgiveable at 800.

I spent half an hour on that this afternoon - only managed about 3 fault free runs but the final time was really satisfying.

I've easily had a tenner's worth of fun out of this already and I've not gone back to do the earlier stages with a faster bike, done anything other than the 1st tournament or played 90% of the mini games.
