Have been looking for a tattoo for lower arm and can I find one??????NO

I have one tattoo but I want another. Mine is a tribal on the top of my arm.

You're doing the right thing by looking around, but remember, keep your money in your pocket and your skin ink-free until you're absolutely sure.

What are your tattoos, Kat?

So shin, what is it about tattoos?

If I like a picture of something, I might look at it on the PC, or perhaps go as far to print it out and put it in a frame. I find this handy as when I get bored of said picture I can throw the fucking thing in the bin. With tattoos this seems to be a fair bit harder, since, y'know, whatever it is is irrevokably inked onto you for the rest of your life.

My brother had one done when he was 18, and regrets it because now at age 30 he looks like a douche. Moreso because of the tattoo. My gf's best mate did the same thing, and now with 2 kids regrets it even more.

I have no tattoos. My wife has four.

I would get a tattoo if I could be sure that it would look good before it was done. It's the possibility of epic failure on the part of the artist that concerns me most.

Also, I'm a wimp and it hurts.

They can be seen on facebook (not all of them though)

I have 7:

Left ankle-2 cats side-by-side in dark purple
Right ankle-A panda with 'Sue' under it *
Lower back-A Black cat in crescent moon
Right Shoulderblade-A tribal butterfly in black (1st tattoo when I was about 16-eep)
Right shoulder-A blue funky cat
Left Shoulderblade-A hummingbird edited with Bird or paradise in purples and blues, 6 inches or so.
Right Wrist-Handcuffs, one being left open to represent I want someone handcuffed with me. Thanks for the reminder G'

*In an overly-practical moment I decided to get this done and when I saw my mother a few months later I explained I had this done for her as I would be too upset to when she died-she thanked me and then proceeded to smack me upside the head with her oven gloves.

CG-I just love beautiful tattoo's, I'm not into skulls and crossbones, roses and all that jazz, I prefer something I've had a hand in creating in a way. I have another booked for thursday I believe and I also have another 2 to sort out, my friend drew one for me

Yeah it took me about 1 1/2 to pick one on my back and that was changed for the better on the day anyway. I ain't gonna rush into anything that for sure like you say they are there for life and if want change them you end up with scars or an even bigger tat you didn't want in first place.
You think the same way all my family think, but thats why I get ones that I can cover up easily with a piece of clothing. My back one was to help me anyway so that the one I will like more than any other anyway.
Ta for the help.

It don't hurt that much, believe me, it sting more than anything. If you lived closer I would recommend the one I go to he got god knows how many awards, cert's and the rest of it all his walls. But can i remember his name........nope thought not. Place is called Freedom Tattooz don't think they have site mind u

I do think as a public service requirement tattoo parlours should be obliged to show all new customers several pictures of (1) naked 70 year olds with faded, stretched tattoos and (2) Kerry Katona.

I don't like tattoos, especially on women - they always look so contrived, and I am yet to see one that doesn't look cheap or nasty, and I do always think gosh, that is going to look so damned ugly when that person is sixty.

Tattoos also look really bad after a few years when they have faded.

I briefly considered at the age of about 16 having, very small, the word 'yes' tattooed in a very inconspicuous place - I mean REALLY small - as small as it could have been done and yet still been clear enough to make the letters out - as a message of positivity to myself after a tough few years, but decided against it when I realised that, actually, I had never seen a nice tattoo.

Nah, if you wanna be different nowadays don't get any, that's the key.

I get them for me, not for other people, which is why I can cover them all if I had to go somewhere pish posh, I also have cuffs to wear if I need to cover the handcuffs up

I dislike 'sleeve' tattoo's on women as they look a bit 'rough' for my tastes. If you look after your tattoo's then they won't fade as bad, trick is to use certain colours in them and then they don't :) plus your tattooist (the one that did it) should offer 'top ups' as inevitably you will scratch the tattoo whilst it heals and bits will be missing. I have had most of mine touched up. This is sometimes a free service, although some are known to charge

Can I perhaps suggest that if you're having to search websites for something to have done you might perhaps not want anything enough to scar yourself for life with?

Nothing wrong with looking for ideas. An ongoing search shows he's taking the matter seriously.

I've drawn a few for friends before aswell and they look great, they are also personal then and not something churned out by the net. If you get something then improve on it already-having said that, my tribal butterfly and the handcuffs are pretty standard

You are meant to get them touched up after a few years just no ever bothers. Family is always shocking when you leave and see how black it is but they seem to forget there is no skin or nothing there cos it all been inked in and you won't get true colour till week or so later when healed.
Ohhhh that reminds me I used a great cream on my last one which they told me to get......It is called ACRIFLEX.......... I know people prob use it already but my god that was good stuff. The weird thing is that you have to treat it too a burn rather than a cut cos if treat like a cut it goes really scabby, and cracks the finish of the ink when healed like my first one. Poxy half rate shop who done it mind u.

Mine offered the same service but I could only see one bit that cracked and was on an end that I prob will extend at some point or another so didn't really see a point of touching it up just yet anyway.

Dudley.......It took me over a year to find my last one and tweek it to how I liked it so I think i'm being sensible about it, thanks for the advice anyway. I'm not getting a tattoo on impulse, I do know the risks later on in life.

I don't like tattoos, especially on women.

There are a number of women in the.. er... adult entertainment industry?... who are very attractive and have beautiful skin... and then skank it up with a big stupid ridiculous tattoo. Bluergh.

Yeah, it's not nice. Most people have those that like 'hanging' suspended in the air so they can whack off, all the wonderful things stored in my brain >.< no-one's putting fish hooks in me thank you so much!

Thanks :)

The drawing is a portrait my friend did of me, 'animized!' hehe. I am also going to have that heart with the 'stone' effect but I shall edit it again

The bird took 2 hours and cost me about 70 squid, it was cheaper than normal as I know Colin that owns the tattoo parlour. He went over the outline twice so it won't fade

The handcuffs hurt the worst, I'd prefer to have my whole frigging leg done than that!! :s But I am having another wrist one at some stage that I've already sorted out

My wife's cousin and his fiancee have each other's names tatooed in (I think it is) Aramaic, which looks quite nice - although they had it done on their wrists which to me is not such a nice area. Still, it is quite subtle. My favourite part about it is being able to continually wind them up about it being spelled wrong.

Extra funny as I don't know any Aramaic or Assyrian (which is what they speak).

Also-interesting facts about tattoo's:

Not sure if this applies anymore but it used to when I had my first:

You get tattoo'd for FREE in these places
On the soles of your feet
Inner eye lids
Inner lip
Tongue

I think that's all the one's I know. Also a friend of mine had this tattoo last year under my instructions after I saw this on a random website one day:

PUBIC HAIR WARNING-
http://www.styleofeye.com/images/lawnmower-tattoo.jpg

Rev-it depends on the time, tattooist and whether you're willing to pay more for better service. That's a good price for 2hrs and all the follow-up's I may need in the future :)

Lace-I WANT ONE! haha

Yes, £70 for two hours work is a very good price.

Damn straight! hehe. Ian-did you ever go to Paignton? The tattooist near the sea did that cat in the moon on my back when I was 19 and visiting my mum. I've had tattoo's all over the place.

Come on people-pictures! I wanna see some ink *whoar!*

EDIT: I also have my friend coming in to see my new tattoo (which is the cutest thing in the world and reminds me of my kitten Bandit) I'm still undecided as to where to have it, I'll tell Dirk and Val on the day though

I don't get tattoos - I wouldn't brand myself and the whole concept of trying to be unique by giving yourself a permanent "distinguishing feature" has got to be an oxymoron, surely. However, I do like the humourous ones and I suggested that my missus get a sign on her inner thigh saying "Coach Parties Park Here" which earned me a slap :)

I wonder if there are a load of chinese people walking around with tattoos written in english on them, thinking they're hella cool.

I don't like chinese text and stuff as everyone has them, I also am not keen on people having tattoo's of people's names (other than parents or other close relatives)

My cousin was about to get married and had his fiance's name tattoo'd on him-they split 2 days after! It's a jinx

EDIT: I'm interested in that UV stuff though, if anyone's got more info on it PM me or something, I'll have a delve through the net a bit later on and see the pros and cons of it-knowing me I'd get blood poisoning or something-ick!

I like tattoos. I don't have any, though. Still pondering it. Got the rest of my life to figure out what I'd like.

I like shoulder cat most, of yours, shin :)
