The summer television schedule is usually not as high profile and exciting as the fall season in America but I've decided to make a big list of TV shows you can watch over the next few months. Actually looks pretty excellent as a whole.

Shows that have already started

Angry Boys - New Show (Already Started - Available of iplayer)

This is actually Australian and is by the guy that did the pretty good comedy mockumentary Summer Heights High. This seems to be taking the same style and starts tonight (June 7th) on BBC 3.

Children's Hospital -Season 3 (Already Started)

Daft as a brush piss take of pretty much every medical drama that's been around. Fantastic cast with actors you'll have seen in many American TV comedies.

Franklin and Bash - New Show (Already started)

Zach from Saved by the Bell and one of the guys from Road-trip are lawyers in this comedy/drama thing, slightly entertaining if not that good TV series, might be worth watching, there's only been one episode so far. And I managed about 5 minutes of the second episode before realising it's not worth my time and probably not yours.

Jon Benjamin has a Van - New Show (Already Started)

The voice of Archer and Bob in Bob's Burgers, has got a show in which you actually see the real him. Which I think is meant to be like a fake news programme/journalist talking to real people on the street thing. Its JOn Benjamin it should be good.

The Nine Lives of Chloe King - New Show (Already Started)

Stolen from wiki.
The protagonist, Chloe King, is a teenager who discovers she has special powers, including enhanced speed, hearing, agility, and the ability to climb objects using her claws. When she realizes a mysterious figure is shadowing her, she goes on to uncover that she is a descendant of an ancient race. She learns she may be the key to protecting the race from human assassins, which have hunted them for thousands of years.

So another superpowers family drama with no one I've heard of. I think it will be shit although its at a steady 69 on metacritic at the minute.

Treme -Season 2 (Already Started)

David Simon's new show after The Wire, about the people coping with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.

Shows in June that haven't started

Falling Skies - New Show (19th June)

Spielberg and the Saving Private Ryan scriptwriter's new sci-fi show about the aftermath of an Alien Invasion, starring him from ER, no not Clooney, the other one that was always in it.

Wilfred - New Show (23rd June)

Based on an Australian comedy of the same name. Based around a boyfriend going to his girlfriends for the first time and meeting her dog which he and the audience sees as a man dressed in a dog suit. The Australian version is pretty good and the dog from that is playing the same part in the US version but Elijah Wood is taking over the boyfriend part.

Commercial Kings - New Show (24th June)

Docu-comedy starringTwo comedian/filmmakers travelling around America making low budget commercials for local businesses with local talent.

Louie - Season 2 (24th June)

Seinfeld like Reality like Comedy starring stand up comedian Louis C.K as himself in both his career and family life as a divorced father of two. Brilliantly funny, surreal and some excellent guest characters.

True Blood - Season 4 (26th June)

The world of vampires, werewolves and tits is back, seems to be getting worse and worse to me but I'll watch it regardless.

Weeds - Season 7 (28th June)

The pot dealing mom is back for possibly its last season, but its been one ridiculous and funny journey. Another Tv series worth watching all the way through if you haven't before.

Ugly Americans - Season 2 (30th June)

Animated comedy TV show where monsters have integrated with humans around the world. Decent if not amazing light hearted entertainment.

July

Curb Your Enthusiasm - Season 8 (10th July)

Larry David is back for yet another season and if you haven't seen it before; get watching it. Probably the best comedy on telly. Ricky Gervais and Michael J. Fox are to star this season.

Breaking Bad - Season 4 (17th July)

Probably my favourite show on telly at the minute. The dad from Malcolm in the Middle is a dying chemistry teacher who decides to start making crystal meth in order to provide for his family when he's gone.

Web Therapy - New Show (19th July)

Comedy starring Lisa Kudrow as a shrink who ditches hour long in person treatment to do 3 minute web treatments. Off the preview trailer for the show it looks like theres going to be an excellent cast forthe patients.

NTSF:SD:SUV - New Show (21st July)

NTSF:SD:SUV which stands for National Terrorism Strike Force: San Diego: Sport Utility Vehicle is from the great minds that brought Childrens Hospital which you should also watch. Although this time instead of taking the piss out of shit hospital dramas now its shit spy dramas. Should have a great cast and Jeff Boldblum is cast as one of the baddies I believe.

August

Friend with Benefits - New Show (5th August)

The name itseld sounds bloody awful and the cast looks pretty shit but its written by the guy that wrote (500) days of summer which was alright.

I lasted about 5 minutes, I've already seen No Ordinary Family and this was far too tween and kiddy for my liking.

Jon Benjamin has got a van I'm not sure about, there's 2 episodes out now, and although neither have been great there's been a couple of great laugh out loud moments/lines.

I thought Franklin and Bash was pretty decent, but of the rest there isn't that much to tempt me outside Falling Skies

Is anyone watching Wilfred? I saw the first episode at bagwaa's house yesterday and it's really, really good. Starring Elijah Wood and introducing Jason Gann as the eponymous antihero.

Quote:
The story of Ryan, a depressed man who believes he is getting nowhere in his life and plans to kill himself. In the middle of his attempted suicide, he is asked to watch his neighbor's dog, Wilfred, but Ryan can only see Wilfred as a real person instead of a animal that everyone else sees. As they begin to bond more and become friends, Wilfred teaches Ryan a life lesson about people, love, and living.
