I'm almost certain now that somebody has stolen my Mass Effect 2/Bioshock 2 parcel. My 2nd, 3rd and 4th Discworld novels turned up this morning - I'd also bought them with free delivery, although I ordered them about a week after the games. Interestingly, the Amazon parcel had been opened at one of the ends. The little flap bit had been opened and the glue seal broken, but it had been folded back in to make it look like it hadn't been opened. Some scummy post office cunt has obviously opened it, saw three books and closed it again. I imagine the same thing happened with my games but it didn't get closed again. Fucking cunts.

Has anybody else almost certainly had their hard earned trinkets stolen at the Royal Mail (presumably free-for-all) sorting office? I actually have a postie-chum, and I've asked him if this sort of thing is common, so I'm awaiting his response.

The local sorting office to my firm in London had an enterprising chap/chaps/chapesses who opened a bank account in our firm's name as a "Mr [Law Firm Name]", and then started opening all of the mail addressed to our firm to check for cheques from clients for our fees, and then cashing them.

Thieving bastard enough for you?

RM is full of cunts. Except for our postie, who is awesome. He didn't go on strike last year or the year before as he didn't see the point in going on strike purely for the sake of a load of whining protectionist twats in London who weren't working as hard as him.

How long did his scam last for? Did he just get too clever and open an account in the name of JJB Sport or something?

Heh. It was going on for a few months. The firm took a little while to realise that they weren't getting paid as much as they should be, and then they asked clients to pay who said they already had, and investigations commenced.

I'll bump old threads from now on. That's getting dangerously close. I reckon by 2030 we may reach "peak thread", where demand outstrips supply and we plummet from there.

Here's a story about missing post..

My dad bought a guitar off eBay on July 4th, because it's my account I paid for it through Paypal and instructed it to be delivered to his house.

A few weeks later and the guitar hasn't turned up. I contacted the seller who gave me the parcel reference number, I called ParcelForce and after much umming and ahhing they told me that the van that the guitar was on... had been stolen!

So we've got no chance of getting the guitar.

How shit is that? And only now, almost 2 months after them telling me the van was stolen, are they contacting us about insurance.

Talk about jumping through hoops to get compensation too!

When we were setting up the lab, we'd ordered a couple of Akta 3D* and associated gubbins, so about £100,000 of kit. After a while, one had arrived, then been dropped by the courier from the back of the truck, leaving it more a three dimensional rhombiod than a cube. We got another one, and it was to come with the second, in the same shipment. After a while, we called to ask where it was, and the container lorry had been stolen. Thus began the curse of that lab.

*They are systems to purify stuff from liquids, basically. They are pretty cool.

Kind of similar... a friend ordered 3 grands worth of sofa and chair recently.

When it turned up it was wet and splattered with dirt.

The driver expected him to take it as it was and then take it up with DFS later.

As you can imagine, he told him to (take it back and get it changed please good sir-Ed)

I accused Citilink of theft when they repeatedly failed to deliver, er, something. I actually called the police, who called Citilink, and they panicked and sent the parcel in a taxi.

Cunts.

I went to get a parcel weighed the other day and some thief had stolen the post office.

Luckily it was a large aquatic mammal, so I popped across the road to the whaleweigh station.

It has happened again! Last week I ordered a few new books (including Dune which I've never read and decided it's about time I ought to, but anyway) and one of those 360 controllers with the new D-Pad (it was the same price as a black one but you get a play and charge kit for nowt - I still hate the colour). So, as with last time, the books turned up on Monday but the packaging had been clearly tampered. It's now Wednesday and my controller is two days late. I might be jumping the gun, but in my experience every thing I've ever ordered from Amazon - and that's a lot of stuff - either arrives bang on time or earlier, or never turns up at all.

Once again, some thieving cunt has been opening my parcels, discarding books as poor loot and taking my video game related goodies. Fuck's sake. Once again I've emailed Royal Mail and Amazon, but RM did fuck all about it as far as I can tell last time, and Amazon are blatantly going to make me wait two weeks before they send me a replacement, all the while holding onto my money, natch.

Just re-read the old thread (requesting merge please mods). My postman is beyond awesome. He's probably one of the last of the old guard who give a damn left. Most of my buying is done online and we have come to an arrangement, if it will fit through my letterbox he will sign for it, if it won't he knocks on. If I'm out he goes to my shed (with bugger all in it) puts it in there and then posts the shed keys through my letter box.

Win win, I get my parcels, and postie does not have to lug it back round on re-delivery day, also he really seems to distrust our Saturday delivery chap, I dislike him as well as he's one of those fuckers who sneaks down with letters and a "we tried..." card and leaves all the parcels in the van. Super-postie frowns upon this and has clearly declared him An Enemy.

Our postie is fine - apart from the fact she turns up at bloody 1PM most days. I doubt she'd have the means to piss about stealing stuff anyway - I'm almost certain it's the scum in my local sorting office.
