I've been looking for the past couple of days, for a Spectrum emulator to play Uridium. I've found several that load the game and have various levels of interface from the lovely to the ugly.

The only problem is that I can't find one with definable keys. I would like to use my joypad to play the games but I can't. Uridium is the main culprit, I can't for the life of me figure out how to play it using the keys it's given me (Z,X,M,L and Enter... even Reed Richards would struggle with this)

Does anyone* have one that they could recommend? I know I could play it in a browser but I'm faced with the same problem there.

Spin lets you map your joypad to a Kempston or Sinclair joystick. So for example if I want to play on the MS joypad I just select Kempston on the game menu because this is how my emulator is setup.

Not sure any emulator lets you map actual keys to a joypad. But certainly every emulator I have on my Revo lets me bind the joypad to a joystick port on the system being emulated.

The two main Speccy emulators I use are Speculator and ZXSpin

ZXspin ftp://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/sincl ... n0.666.zip

Speculator has a demo but requires payment to continue using it after 30 days

I've had joysticks and pads working with both.

Another alternative would be joy2key which remaps your joypad controls to key presses - it would work with virtually anything

I've downloaded Spin and it seems good... A nice little emulator but I still can't get Uridium to work with my joypad.

As far as I can tell, there's no options screen in game or anything like that to select my controller.

Just define your joypad as a Sinclair interface. If that doesn't work, define it as Kempston.
