It would appear that there are none


1. The wife called me this morning and told me that some work expenses she had claimed where in her bank account (HBSC) she paid for them with our joint AMEX so I needed the cash in my account (Halifax) it was in there 10 minutes after she sent it

2. My bank Credit card takes 3 days or more to take payments from my current account even though it’s all managed on the same online banking portal.

3. My bank sends money via a set up payment to a work credit card in 2 hours if the amount is under £300 and 2-3 days if its more

Halifax and Santander are the two banks left in this country that don't do Faster Payments properly. Every other bank has a limit of up to £10,000 for Faster Payments transfers.

Credit card transfers piss me off. I think they're fixing those next. Or maybe they're speeding cheques up again, just in time for them to be killed off (hooray!). I forget.

I still have a use for the odd cheque now and again, they are handy to pay workmen etc

They're only handy to pay workmen because the workmen won't take sensible modern payment methods
