I was playing a couple of nights ago. I'm rusty, but was angered by the amount of people that play as if it were Quake 3.
I'm in, as long as you don't all start hating on me again.

The Beex server is, sadly, down.

I'd be in if we can get a team of Beexers. Playing with the general PC brigade did nothing but infuriate me, watching them all pick up snipers and bunny-hop around the maps like, as Grim... has mentioned, playing Quake.

I never really liked counter-strike, but could've been tempted were it not for the £13 price tag.

Yeah, your copy is now on my shelf. It just seems like v1.6 to me, although I haven't played the PC version of that in years.

I was playing co-op MW2 spec ops last night with Kissyfur, and we were doing the sneaky-sneaky-snipers-in-the-long-grass mission. I carefully pointed out that we had to make best use of cover, and carefully look for giveaways of movement and light flashing off scopes.

He suggested, and went on to demonstrate, that actually the best way to do it was for him to bunny-hop all over the map to flush out the snipers while I shot them. And he was right.

Don't any of these games have you tiring out if you're jumping all over the place? You'd think that would be one way of discouraging it. Assuming you wanted to, obviously.

You slow down in CS when you jump.
I don't mind people camping or using sniper rifles, that's what CS is about. It's when they run past the dropped bomb on their way to find their NEXT KILL LOLZ that annoys me.

It's still £13 on Steam? I'm sure I spotted it over Christmas for like, a quid or something. I mean, HL2 isn't even that much anymore is it? And you get CS:Source with that. Or at least, you did when you bought the physical copy when it first came out.

It was really annoying. You started off with $16,000 (but the AWP was banned), and if you died you respawned immediately. Fucking stupid. The thing is, it seemed EVERY sever I tried - including some old favourites - had installed this mod and people were loving it. Eventually I found my old Dust/Dust 2 24/7 server and played for a while, but we all know how that gets a bit boring eventually...

Yeah you just shot your CD key in and it'll let you download everything you're entitled to download. Works with all of Valve's games.

£13 is the cheapest deal on steam.

Wow. Harsh considering, like I said, it was a bloody freebie with HL2, what, 4 years ago?

I'm willing to try some of this, despite being fairly mediocre at it. Keep an eye out for me in Steam. :)

Waste of time. Still can't find a single half decent server. And man, this game got UGLY. I remember it looking so damn good! Even the likes of CODBLOPS on the 360 at sub-HD resolution is prettier than this at 1080p with the settings maxed.

Trying to get random people to play tactically in CS is a futile struggle. It does happen, rarely, that a good 90% of the team will follow a plan and then it's a thing of joy.

Haven't played for ages. Isn't there an even better beta version about now?

One of the few times playing online wasn't full of wankers, I had loads of fun with some randoms on Rainbow Six Vegas on the funsquare. We didn't exactly play tactically, but we tried to, and that's what counts. My favourite part was when against a significantly better team, we decided to all equip tear gas and try to surprise them. For about ten minutes, the answer to pretty much every question became "GAS 'EM!", and any call for help or report of spotting someone would result in a hail of gas grenades.

Naturally, this continued for quite some time after it became clear that the other team had all equipped gas masks.
