Google Street View is now enabled for London, Birmingham, Manchester and a few other smaller cities.

Discuss!

How are you getting the direct link? I've found my house (with my car in the drive!), but it's in Flash.

On the top right you just right-click "Link" and "Copy Link Location".

Liverpool is too. My Octy is on the car park at the old flat, number plate clearly visible. OMGHAX! The other car isn't though, despite having been behind a Google car for 100 yards, and work being on there (apparently at a weekend). Bah.

Bit, risky, linking to your exact address?

You tell how old the images are by the price of petrol on the stations. 119p for diesel? Those were the days :)

Holy fuck, you should see it on my G1. It has 'compass mode', so as you turn around or tip the phone up and down or walk about, the images move with you. I CAN SEE EXACTLY WHAT I COULD BE LOOKING AT IF MY PHONE WASN'T IN THE WAY!

How do I make this work, I've gone to street view, but all it's done is draw some blue lines around the streets (yes, I'm somewhere that street view should work)?

Click on the map, then it should give you a pop-up window to click on. Once in, hit the menu key, and go for Compass mode.

Ooh, ta.
It seems to be ridiculously oversensitive though, I can look at the floor and the sky easy enough, but whizz past anything inbetween.

It's the high tannin levels. Use a whitening toothpaste.

My old house in Bristol (2003-2007) does appear to have been mildly scaffolded.

My car is parked illegally. I win.

As you are the internets and therefore all murderers and deviants I'm not linking to it. I'm too busy to have you all turning up at once.

Also, number plates seem to be blurred out in some but not all of the streets I've looked at.

Bit disappointed I missed the google car, I could have got my kit off and followed them round for the afternoon.

I'm getting a picture of a road. As in, what you would see if you looked straight down while standing on a road, but where the shops are.

And it's no coincidence; I was trying to find where I parked, just to make sure my mind hadn't invented the sex shop I spotted on the return to my car.

(And then to get a picture, and photoshop you into it.)

Kebab shop in Nottingham which is only open October-June due to being near Trent Uni campus (still funny though). It's right next to the Orange Tree, which is a very nice pub, despite being lacking in ale choices.

I expected this to be the one near your house.
Can anyone find a taxi in Nottingham?
