In my neverending whirl of social gatherings and soirées, MrsA and I are to attend a fancy dress party at New Year.

The theme is "The Future" and, to be honest, short of turning up with someone 15 years younger than me, I'm at a loss of what we should wear.

Suggestions would be gratefully received. Oh, it's in Wales.

I lack the imagination for fancy dress parties, so always just wear a suit and go as 'James Bond'. Except Halloween ones, when it's 'the devil in disguise'

I have every confidence of turning into a silver haired lothario.

If it's in Wales and the theme is The Future, surely going dressed in 80s clothing would suffice.

Dress as a Fallout or Eve character, depending on how optimistic you are about the future.

The day before you go, make sure you have clothes washed and dried for the day after the party. Wear those.
