Hi guys,

Does anyone know or have any recommendations/links etc. for a good, cheap, small netbook for around £200-250?

I just need it to run Groupwise client & the usual MS Office type stuff; a reasonable battery life and at least 60GB HD would be nice, plus wifi and mains charger obv. (No idea what's out there for this kind of dosh and would probably choose some obsolete, laughable shite. I know you IT blokes will have around 1000% better idea of such things than me).

Any advice gratefully received. :)

Cavey

This little number isn't too bad:

HP Mini 210-1001sa Netbook

Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz
1GB RAM
250GB HDD
10.1" BrightView TFT
Up to 9.5 Hours Battery Life
Webcam + Bluetooth
Windows 7 Starter

I don't know what a 'Groupwise client' is, though.

Are you sure you mean a netbook? Mine isn't too great for office stuff just because the screen height is only 800 pixels or something like that.

(edit: it's only 600 pixels - you can probably get better resolution ones now)

If you're not going to be travelling a lot & living out a bag then a wee laptop is probably better for everything except battery life :)

No complaints with my Samsung.

If you're after a good deal, best bet is probably search hotukdeals for "netbook", and sort by most recent.

Cheers guys, that link that Grim... came up with looks pretty good (250GB HD & up to 9.5 hours battery? Feck me, that's better than my actual laptop!)

@ Davpaz - yup, that's it mate (it's shite as well :( )

@ Kalmar - yep, it's only for taking on trains and stuff mate, if I lost my actual lappy I'd be screwed

@ gospvg - thanks mate, although I'm looking to buy new through the Company's books etc. :)

@ Wullie - do you know of any good small laptops then please mate for similar dosh please? :)

Much appreciated guys; your karma will all increase for helping out a hapless old man. :D

'fraid not. Couldn't even tell you where to begin looking other than hotukdeals & the google shopping tab :DD

However, I'm a netbook user by necessity (more then than now) & the wee screen/keyboard can be a pain in the arse at times.

Especially if, like me, you have stumpy fingers that really don't get on with the keyboards. When I've used them, I've spent half my time deleting my cack-handed attempts at typing and redoing it.
