And I gave them grief about giving their Internet customer's data away!

They said it was live, but I couldn't see a transmitter - did anyone see it?

I do, every now and again. I will watch it over the BBC.

Um, no one watches Sky News, do they?

Adam Boulton tapes it and then watches it afterwards to double check for perceived slights against him.

Mali - do you watch Jeremy Kyle as well?

I was on BBC London news a while back. I was queuing for a bus, and chuckling at a podcast, and looked really mental.

There's a unsurprising lack of coverage of the ACS case on the Sky website

I'm pretty sure it wasn't really live, although they did panic a bit when I started talking about it.

Mali - any awards list that includes Adam Boulton and the "coverage of the Diana Funeral" can fuck off. And remember that Eastenders has won awards, man.

Sky News is not "respected". It's the UK version of Fox, but with less brains.

There's nothing snobbish about disliking a crappy, partisan news channel that covers news stories in the most shallow, sensationalist way possible and takes every effort to fail to inform. I've actually watched it, you know. It's almost as bad as ITN.

It is very partisan and tabloid, it has to be said. I watched it for 10 minutes last night, it was just Kelvin McKenzie pontificating to camera!

Aye, if I want to see crap journalism performed live I'd rather go straight to Fox than watch Sky. At least the opinionated nuts on Fox are foreigns.

BBC is the least bad, by some margin. Also, that one on cable where it's read by a woman stripping off.

Fox isn't a news channel, it's satire.

Well, yes it is, as they're categorically not doing it in the most shallow, sensationalist way possible, as you've agreed. They may be a little bit shallow and sensationalist, but not the most. I know what you meant, but my answer was technically correct.

I think they're getting there. Thinking back to only a few years ago and comparing BBC news coverage to now (especially on the website) and it's ill-informed, cater-to-the-masses shit.
Man, I fucking hate the news media in this country.

The police had set up a little tent-thing on the end of Blackfriars Bridge and were putting identifying marks on people's bikes. I asked if they could do one on my Kindle, and they did. Then Sky news came up and started asking me what I thought about community support officers and stuff (most of them weren't real police, you see). I answered his questions, then at the end asked if they were from sky, and he laughed and said "Yes, this is live on Sky news" (which, as I said, I don't think it was) so I said "Do you know why they handed out their broadband customer's personal data to some porn company's* lawyers?" and he simultaneously laughed and looked at me like I'd just shot his dog.
Then they stopped talking to me.

* I may have said porn star by accident.
