I will most likely be celebrating it with a glass of warm beer later this evening.

I'm thinking today I may celebrate this most English of days with lunch in the garden of the nearest public house to my place of work, enjoying that most British of beverages: a cool pint of Spanish lager.

If St George was so ZOMFG why didn't he organise a fucking bank holiday for us?

I shall pop to the local this afternoon and have a pint, then I guess.

We have celebrated our patriotism by purchasing 12 bottles of wine and 6 bottles of cider. Unfortunately, I'm on antibiotics

And he hasn't got his feet all the way in either.

Not only that, the dragon is armless.

And St. George has his stirrups insanely long.

Apart from that... there's nothing wrong with that factual representation of what actually happened.

And it's a bloody small horse, or an abnormally tall woman. (I don't know how large dragons usually are, but anything under Lear jet size is a disappointment).

That picture makes him look a pussy. Even I could knock off that shitty lizard thing.

This, on the other hand, makes him look awesome. Which is how it should be.

He's totally just Zio'd that dragon, and the horse, by the expression on their faces.

It makes him look lazy.

That's why I think it makes him look awesome. I couldn't do that. Not to a dragon and a horse.

Apart from that it seems to be a wyvern he's fighting against.

I've stared at that picture for ages but I can't see the 3D bit.

I will be partaking in a few beers later...

I will be attempting to get our hot water working properly later. Is that an English thing to do? My sense of national identity is sadly lacking, I'm afraid, so I'm never quite sure.

Has anyone ever seen Henry V with Kenneth Brannagh, Derek Jacobi and Brian Blessed? It's ace-best, and is my mental reference when playing Mount & Blade. The battle at the end is stupendous. Despite only having about thirty extras they somehow make it seem like a huge scrum, and the music is excellent. I especially like the bit with Blessed smiting with his giant mace. Top speech by Brannagh too. I actually prefer it to the 1940 version, which is very, very good but just a little too 'nonny nonny,' in parts and doesn't do as well with the three rogues and their various sad ends. Not least because it cuts out the hanging.

But yeah, St George's Day I always think of this film. Which is stupid, because it's actually St Crispin's Day. Sorry Mr McFly.

Yes, the newer Henry V gets across the muddy, loud stabby scrap that the real battle was supposed to have been a bit better than the older one, if I remember right. To be fair, the first one was at least partly wartime propaganda and showing English foot soldiers being trampled to death in some field in northern France might not have gone down too well.

While carrying heavy battery thing back, I passed by a pub with a sign outside saying "celebrate St Georges day here. 100% English Beer and 100% English music all day long"

The music they were playing was Nickelback. I didn't go in to check their definition of English beers. Although I bet it had Stella or somesuch.

Well, the lyrics to Nickleback are in English - maybe that's what they meant.

All draught beers in local pub are £2.30 from 6pm.

That cave is obviously made of paper, too. Tch.

I only found out it was st. 'possibly it was a newt actually, but shut up' george's day about about 4pm when someone at work told me. For shame.

I will be celebrating it in the most english way possible: by going about my regular business as if nothing is happening.
