So, my trusty Guitar Hero World Tour drumkit has finally started to go wrong, which is not really surprising given the amount of abuse I've given it. I'm loathe to give up my double kick drum pedal, plus my muscle memory is used to playing this kit. Does anyone have one of these that no longer gets used? I can't seem to find a decent price anywhere.

If not, I'll have to get a Rock Band kit, but I'll be sad to lose the double kicks.

Can't these be fixed? A friend of mine let me borrow his drum kit and it somehow got broke while I had it.

I took it apart and if I remember correctly, put some electrical tape over the sensors. Worked as good as new after that!

This link seems to say the same thing (although, looks like it requires some soldering)

Good find! I shall try taping it down as I don't have a soldering iron.

Try buying a soldering iron and taping that to it.

How about taping some tape to it in case it happens again?

Good plan. And a soldiering iron. Then buy another kit and cut the red pad off it just in case you need it for this one.

Fixing the world tour drum kit is actually extremely easy! This is what I did.

Take one world tour drum kit with intermittent drum pad failure
Look online for instructions
Print out instructions
Take apart drum kit
Follow instructions
Put drum kit back together
Take non-working drum kit back to shop
Replace with working drum kit

Woohoo, I've fixed it! The wire had completely come away from the sensor, so I stripped it back to the copper and taped it back on. It probably needs soldering for a permanent fix, but this will do for now.

Cheers Vision, I owe you a pint.
