Sure. Travel systems employ sophisticated[1] demand-based pricing models that put the price up when popularity rises. There you go ;)

Put it this way: if you buy a ticket in advance, then the price goes up, do you call the ferry company and offer to pay the difference? If I'm on the boat next to you and I paid twice what you did, do you feel bad, or do you feel smug you got a bargain?

Quote:
It's a tough question where supply and demand stops and profiteering begins.
From what I'm reading in the press, it's mostly been fairer than you might assume. For example, the BBC earlier pointed out that Eurostar has laid on as many trains as it can and is charging £89 for a Paris-London single; that's less than it usually costs at this time of year for that ticket when bought on day of travel.

[1] often so sophisticated they go wrong and start marking stuff down or just giving random prices no-one understands.

The BBC had a bloke who walked down the ferry onramp at Calais, amongst the cars, holding a sign saying "spare seat? £50!"

Why don’t you just leave it alone and enjoy the games you play on it? It seems that every other day things aren’t working or things are crashing… I think it’s trying to tell you something.

Get your PC to a working state and leave it. I don’t mean to sound like I’m having a go, but I’d much rather read about people playing games and their opinions of them rather then read endless stories about getting them to work.

My PC is working splendidly :)

The one I am playing with also works perfectly :)

I built a second (very very budgetted spec) PC for emergencies. This way for example if something happened to my black one I can at least get RMA sorted (it's practically impossible to deal on the phone now and if you can it's very expensive, XFX charge 65p a minute for phone support).

The graphics card I have (the 8600 gts) was free as my cousin gave it to me. The motherboard I am using is triple SLI capable and cost me £130. Sadly it doesn't do Crossfire so when I wanted to set up Crossfire it became a large paperweight. So I used it in the second machine with a £27 CPU. For £22 not having SLI is a bit silly really.

Just tried to book a train journey to London, for tomorrow. Surprisingly enough it turned out to not be available. But only after taking the full payment information. Sigh.

Stopping me is the fact I am not at the pier yet, and certainly wasnt when I booked the ticket (took me an hour, the website was crashing and all sorts, before the boat rapidly sold out).

When I arrive in Esbjerg if I see people asking for room, I will endeavour to get them on the boat. I got no problems sharing.

Now that's a nice car. Just needs a gun on the front and some blokes up ladders to mow down for the full effect.

Also, not worth dredging up one of the PC threads, I'm looking at two desktops, both at the same price, one is a AMD Athlon II X2 245 Dual Core Processor 2.9GHz and the other a Intel Pentium E5300 Processor 2.6GHz. Would I even notice a difference bearing in mind it'll just be for general PC use (surfing, winamp, coding) rather than gaming.

I wonder how many promiscuous women it takes, running at full reverse cowboy speed, to register on the Richter scale.

Balls, the guy installing our new oven has just found that te guy who installed the last oven used sub-substandard cable between the oven and the fusebox, so thats more cash he's going to take from me. He somehow managed to use about a foot of the proper stuff at the oven end so it looked right, and then the rest is thinner, cheaper stuff. Damn cowoys!

What's the distance to the fusebox and the cross-sectional area of the thin cable (might be stamped on it)? There's a chance it's actually OK and your new lad is trying it on a bit.

Ask if he's related to a guy in London who sells magic audio cables to rich blokes' wives who live in big apartments by the river.

Card deffo fucko.

I had the brainwave of installing it side by side with my other working card as that way when it took a shite the other one would still display a signal. It took longer to take a shite but when it did the machine simply locked up.

Cocking Fuck.

I've got a really tricky job on at the moment working on some accounts where the accounts package has somehow managed to produce a trial balance that doesn't actually balance thereby creating a hole in the double entry book-keeping continuum.

Tomorrow I've got a good run at it with the offspring out at pre-school for the full day but After Burner Climax is released on XBLA and I've got cheap MS points burning a hole in my virtual wallet.

Do the nasty job (that needs the accounts finalising by the end of the month) or fly magic planes going pew pew?

Trousers. It's always good to take a break to get into the right mindset for something.

Having said that, I always not regret filing my weekly reports on a Friday, and instead have to stay up late on Sunday evenings to do them instead.
