If indeed there is still some interest in this, there is a way to get free (Cheap) tickets, but you need to act fast (and buy the sun/nick it from somewhere).
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Free Alton Towers Resort tickets
Newspaper-based offer – collect & send off tokens

What’s the deal?

Get two free tickets, valid for adults or kids, to Alton Towers Resort when you collect seven out of eleven tokens from The Sun (20p/30p weekdays depending on region, 60p Saturdays). As adult tickets are £38 each on the day (£29 for kids), this deal will save you up to £76.Alton Towers Resort logo

When can I go?

You can’t request a specific date so you'll need to be flexible; choose five of the eleven date bands provided (spanning dates from 25 Mar - 4 Nov) in order of preference.

Tickets will be valid for one day from one of your chosen date bands where possible, valid for the allocated date only.

How do I get it?

Tokens will be in The Sun every day from Sat 27 Feb - Thurs 11 Mar, so the last date you can start collecting is Thurs 4 Mar (£1.80 total spend). Once you’ve got seven differently numbered tokens, complete the application form (printed on Thurs 4 Mar and online at the end of the offer).

Send your application and tokens to the address given, plus an SAE of at least 15cm x 8 cm with a first class stamp attached. List your five date band choices, in order of preference, on the bottom right hand corner of the envelope you send your application in (not the SAE).

What else do I need to know?

There’s 182,500 pairs of tickets being given away, and it's first come, first served. They’re subject to availability, so get your application in soon to give yourself the best chance of bagging a pair. Applications must be received by Weds 17 Mar; allow 28 days to receive the tickets.

You’ll be contacted with an alternative if your dates are unavailable. Watch out, as if you send multiple applications from the same household they’ll all be void! Additional visitors must pay full price. See full info or other theme park deals.

The deal: 2 free Alton Towers Resort tickets. Valid: Collect 7 out of 11 tokens printed until Thurs 11 Mar. How: Choose 5 date bands, send off form & tokens with SAE. Expires: Thurs 11 Mar. Excludes: 1 application per household. Offer from: The Sun. Restrictions: Tickets are non-transferrable. Not valid with other offers. See full terms.

If people are still interested we can agree on a date together and I can sleep a few at mine. Just a thought.

:)

Interested, but if I'm reading that correctly then the dates that you get for each ticket may not be the same, even if you choose the same band.

So using the cheap tickets offer probably wouldn't be useful for meeting.

Bugger, I read that as we'd all get them for the same band of dates. I think you're right though.

2 for 1s it is then!
