So, it's a top-down-ish dungeon crawling action-rpg by a bunch of the people who worked on Diablo 2 with random dungeon generation and lots and lots of loot to collect. It's got nicely low system requirements, is fairly cheap at £15 and seems to have that just-one-more-floor addictiveness nailed perfectly. I reckon it's worth a punt based on the couple of hours I've put in this evening.

Just had a stab at this, and I'm really impressed. Seems like an almost perfect streamlining of the whole Diablo-style hack n' loot genre. It looks gorgeous too, and not in a fancy shaders+1 way, but in a really charming 'a lot of love went into this' fashion. And a pleasantly generous demo too. Not to mention a netbook mode for playing on the go. I think I might just have to buy this one.

I'm still playing it a week on. In fact, I know I must be reasonably properly addicted now, because my wife recognises the loading screen and glares at me when it comes on. I know a good game when it ruins my marriage.

So, do the really good games lead to flying blackboard dusters?

I've been having a thoroughly good time with this over the weekend. I'm a sucker for a Diablo-alike, as the far-more-time-than-it-deserved that I racked up with Marvel: Ultimate Alliance will attest. The ability to send your pet back to town to flog loot is such a simple but brillant touch.
