Be Excellent To Each Other

I'm going to give my mum my old DS phat (with a lovely flashcart to load with ROMs) that I never use anymore. I was visiting her yesterday and she mentioned she was maybe going to badger my dad to get her one for Christmas as she liked the look of the Brain Training games, so I'll give her my old one for now at least for her to get used to it and see what she likes.

I'm so out of the loop on DS games, what are the good puzzle games and brain training-y games these days? Action puzzle games are ok, she has a degree of actual gaming ability (plays the Popcap games like Peggle and Bejewelled on the PC).

How did you forget Scribblenauts?
And Nintendogs - everybody loves that

I've never played Scribblenauts (I don't think I've touched my DS since it came out). Nintendogs isn't exactly a brain training or puzzle game, so I left it out.

I'd forgotten about that being on the DS. I'm enjoying the 360 version muchly.

Ketsui Death Label

If tower defence counts as action puzzle-y, then Ninjatown is apparently pretty good. I bought it on the cheap from Lewie's site as it featured a mixture of cartoon cuteness and senseless violence that made me think immediately of Char.

There was a neat-ish puzzle game called something like 'Prism: light the way' that I quite enjoyed.

What about the Phoenix Wright games?
