Apparently Barrett Homes have bought it and it's going to turned into modern town houses.

Old friends have been forced to move out (at quite short notice I think)

I am stunned and shocked.

You got that right, still pretty down about it now, it almost feels as if someone has died. And for added "spook" value, the building was built a year after my mum was born, and now it looks like it's going to be knocked down a year after she died!
