Anyone ever even heard of her? I fucking love her music. Reminds me of all the hippy birds I met out in the USA.

Awesome.

This sort. If ever a woman has attracted me with her voice this would be the case.

She's pretty but nothing special. I suppose that's what makes her even more attractive. The fact she's completely natural.

Well may I just thank you JC for introducing me to this. She sounds awesome. Her voice reminds me very very slightly of the girl who sings on the song....erm...hang on-*goes to google*

Oddly that's how I felt about it at first. It reminded me of lesbians and women wearing 70's curtains as dresses.

But something.. I don't know. It's her voice when she ups it a pitch, sends shivers down my spine. Her voice is simply incredible.

And her songs are very happy and chirpy too, which is in stark contrast to pretty much everything else I listen to (A perfect circle, Rob Zombie, Puddle of Mudd, Soundgarden). But sometimes something like this grabs me hard and won't let go.

I've been in a real David Gray mood lately, so dusting down the Dar Williams was inevitable I suppose.

It's very folky. Twangy and happy.. Hard to describe really tbh.

My friend in Ohio's kids were obsessed with Naruto. So much so I would spend about 20 mins before bed removing all the plastic shuriken from my covers haha.

As a practising pagan, those lyrics make me want to crawl up my own backside in embarrassment.

There are an awful lot of good female singer/songwriters out there. Here's a few for starters you might like

Emiliana Torrini
Heather Nova
Hello Saferide
Joan As A Policewoman
Joni Mitchell
Oleta Adams
Suzanne Vega

The genius of some of the artists others have listed is trumped only by their propensity to experiment in meaningless droning self-indulgent cunt-pus at the expense of decent fucking tunes, Tori Amos especially. I mean, what the fuck is she playing at half the time?

My God... someone has even heard of Amanda Marshall?

I've got a very badly copied MP3 of her doing "Last Exit To Eden" live, from the cassette of the single of the same name, and it is fucking awesome.

I got her from the Canadians I know. A few years ago I was active in Team Phoenix Gold and wanted some reference songs to tune my mids/highs. So one of the guys from there sent me that one. Awesome song. Moving and full of meaning.

Quick! I'm having to do work and I need something to listen to while I write a note on some stupid contracts for the horse racing people and intermittently deal with screaming ill children. Recommend me do some cheery stuff to rack up on spotify.

Just unfortunately rediscovered Sunscreem from about 15 years ago. And that Tom Jones song that he does with Stereophonics. Gah.

I love Eels, mind.

Finally finished! Huzzah!
