A colleague and I are heading to the O2 on Sunday to catch Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds.

We're staying at a Travelodge on East India Dock Rd. just on the opposite side of the Thames from the O2.

The normal means of getting from hotel to venue and back - the Jubilee Line between Canning Town and North Greenwich - is closed.

Alternatives offered by the O2 peeps include a boat service from East India DLR station to a pier just by the O2 - any idea how much this will cost or whether it's any good?

Any other alternatives? Walking appears to be a no-no as the only quick way would be through the Blackwall Tunnel, which I'm guessing doesn't have footpaths :P

That'll be the one I'm talking about - it says a valid DLR ticket is required, so I'm assuming it ain't too expensive.

DLR tickets are a couple of quid. I'd recommend the boats as they're cheap and kinda cool.

DLR to Greenwich then the bus, I guess is the only other real option. Or they're running a rail replacement bus that'll take you from Canning Town to North Greenwich.
