I won that case on Ebay and I can't use paypal as payment.

So, I want to send them the cash via a transfer from mum's account as I don't have enough in mine at the mo.

Now mum doesn't do online banking (obviously) but is it possible to do it over the phone?

Someone has told me I could go into their bank (BOS) and do it there, but the nearest is Worthing about 40 miles away. It would also cost me £12 in rail fare.

Can I do it from mum's bank? so for example walk in and say "I would like to send money to this bank account"?

It's all new to me.

Certainly possible to do over the phone. I can say this for certain about Barclays and HSBC

She could do it without any problem, but I think you'd have issues trying to do it on her behalf.

Wonderful. Mum is with Lloyds and I know they usually want you to set up phone banking but I think that's only so you can do things without speaking to a rep.

It'll save us £6 in travel and getting whipped to death by the cold winds of the sea @ Littlehampton.

Was going to go for fish and chips but there's a chippy up the road (though arguably crap compared to the one in LH).

Did I ever mention that living by the sea in the winter months is one of the most miserable things ever? :D Sure I'll be here bragging and posting pics in the summer time but man, winter is long wet and windy here :)

Crast, that's no prob. All I need to do is write the details down in big letters. Mum's eyes aren't too clever as she has arthritus of the eyes. It's terribly painful and has nearly left her blind on a couple of occasion (steroids to the rescue !) so as long as they are prepared to accept help from me (with her standing by) then we should be sorted.

Phew. Really didn't fancy the coast today. It's nice and bright out but as soon as you leave that train station you get cut in half by the wind.

Ah, sorry - I thought you were going to go to the bank without her.

Not using Paypal for eBay stuff is rather silly. You'll have virtually no comeback on this if the case is late, isn't what you wanted or simply doesn't arrive.

Oh fuck sake. They're telling me they can't take payment via bank transfer because it was done through Ebay. I have to pay with paypal somehow.

:(

This has bad news written all over it.

:this: I would worry about buying something off someone on eBay that doesn't use Paypal.

I know but I can't get the account verified.. However, I could set up with my debit card if I didn't already. Problem is I then need to put funds in my bank account which is just as much aggro. Grr.

So would I only lacesensor has sent them £750 and got exactly what he paid for. Plus I have used them myself four times and had exceptional service each time. Including a time where I brought a £140 computer case and it arrived with damage.I ended up getting a full refund and got to keep the case which took me about an hour to repair.

You can pay with paypal using any debit card, can't you? So do that using your mum's debit card.

Or don't order things from ebay when you don't have any money or means to pay for it :D

The paypal account itself has reached it's limit of a bag of sand. Thus it won't let me spend another red cent until the account is verified and mum doesn't want me doing that. I can pay for it of course, but now for some reason they're being picky about it. NVM, I think I have a way to sort this out :)

How come you don't want to verify your Paypal account?

Yes, but you don't need to use your existing paypal account anyway. Log out, then click the "pay now" link and do so as if you don't have an account. I'm pretty sure that'll work, it certainly used to.
