I have a job interview next week, apparently; it's at Old Trafford. I'm not sure why, possibly they plan on having some kind of gladiatorial death-fight to determine who gets to deny the Smackheads Of Barrow their giro.

Anyway, I have absolutely no idea how to get to there. Any Manchester-types able to direct me, or possibly hold my hand and guide me next(*checks*) Wednesday?

A lass at work went to the X Factor audition, she nearly cried when I went off on an anti-Cowell rant.

I've looked on Googly Mapps, it looks a fair and complex distance from Piccadilly...

I know a lad, that auditioned at old trafford this year, just turned 30/31 so could enter the oldies bit. cheesy as fuck but no doubt a decent singer, think hes got to pass one more trial before he gets to perform in front of cowell and co.

Trams go from Piccadilly to OT indeed. Quicker and more interesting than the buses.

Trams, eh? Are these caught from right outside Piccadilly?

From *in* Piccadilly. Unfortunately, they're rebuilding the city centre stuff at the moment, so there're replacement buses.

Where are you travelling from? Can you get to Altrincham or Deansgate easily?

Bear in mind that Old Trafford football ground is is 10 minutes at a brisk walk for me from Old Trafford tram stop.

I'll be travelling from Barrow In Furness, I can get to Oxford Road direct; I used to do that for college. Would that be a better idea?

You could then jump a Liverpool-bound train to Deansgate (or walk for 10 minutes), get off and wander to the Metro stop, and tram to Old Trafford. Doing that skips having to figure out/wait for the replacement bus between Piccadilly and St Peters Sq., from where you'd get a tram direct to Old Trafford.

If I remember I'll check at work tomorrow to see if anyone's got any experience of the tram replacement buses.

I can stop at Deansgate, I've been past there many times. I appreciate this, thanks :)

No need to worry about the buses, then.

Ludicrously, there is actually a train station literally next to the ground, but they only use it in the run up to a match - when I get the train in, I *go past it*, then have to tram back out for a 15 minute walk - I work 5 minutes further down to the canal/lowry.

This is all assuming you're meaning the football ground rather than the cricket club, which is right next to Old Trafford tram stop.

After a momentary confused panic I can confirm that it's the football ground...

Mission Complete. Found it, had an ace interview, and got gawped at by a gaggle of tourists as I walked out of the Warwick Suite. Fun fun fun. Cheers for the help, all :luv:

The Warwick suite? Would the Spurs equivalent of that be the Mickey Hazard Suite?

The Anderton Suite is good. It has a hidden step that causes you to trip and fuck your knee up.
