I liked both Predator films (and Aliens films), but didn't bother watching AvP or similar.

I shall look forwards to this. I hope they don't change how the Predator looks very much, though if they do there's a chance it might be awesome.

Recently watched Predator on bluray for the first time (the first time I've seen it in hi-def, not the first time I've seen the film) and it's still damn enjoyable.

I know everyone on the internet tends to stomp all over remakes without giving them a chance but I'm also tentatively liking the idea of the Robocop remake on the horizon - it's a film that could really benefit in the right way with modern technology.

It'll be another blur-cam CGI shitfest.

In the trailor for the new Terminator film, there appears to be a massive spoiler in it. Which annoyed me.

I did, but was unsure whether this was known or not, you see. I got annoyed by it chiefly as the end of the trailor meant the beginning of "The Boat That Rocked" was closer.

I think it looks great. They weren't messing around in the Empire review; they were upfront that this is a war film that happens to be set in the Terminator universe. The concept and cast are both strong, so it's all to play for.

Twilight wasn't bad. Nice soundtrack, I thought, and it was nice to see a vampire film not entirely about kicking ass.

Speaking of which, leaving notification messages turned on while you watch films gives many great opportunities to make up achievements to while away the shit things your girlfriend makes you watch.

You're watching a film on your Xbox. Somebody comes online and you get a little notification to let you know at the bottom of the screen.

You observe any daft things going on in the film, and say "Achievement unlocked: blah blah blah" to amuse yourself while you're being forced to watch things you don't enjoy. It helps to have a nerd for a girlfriend, mind.

Pfft, I never force Ange to watch anything with me. We're both pretty good for liking decent stuff (The Shield, X-Files, Buffy, Being Human etc), and if I want to watch something gory or she wants to watch something girly, we'll both go off and do our own things.

I must admit, I did make her watch Evil Dead, though. She didn't like that.

The last time I watched Evil Dead 2, a friend of mine who accidentally cut off his own hand with a circular saw popped round just before the part where Ash loses his hand. I had to say that I didn't actually choose that part

I seem to be infecting my girlfriend with the Geek. Got her into Heros, BSG, Chuck, Flight of the Conchords, Inbetweeners etc...


Not all good though, she caught the second half on an episode of Dollshouse and now wants to watch that too, but I'll be buggered if I'm watching that again. That and she still likes to watch heros even though it has become tuncktastic.

Jeez, even I've stopped watching Heroes.
