Have a watch of that. At the start I was scoffing away, but by the end myself and everyone around me was just going "Whaaaa!", especially at the bit where he met someone it recognised.

That's fucking genius :D

Just watched this, amazing. The practical applications are phenomenal.

That is absolute fucking genius, I have to say.

Does lead to visions of a beautiful woman disrobing in front of you only for the results of her last GUM clinic visit to be projected across her breasts, however.

I'm sorry, but this is a horrible idea. Why do we need instant access to the whole of human knowledge all the time? I hate the idea that someone could walk up to me and instantly know my name, age, address, qualifications, shoe size and pringles preference. If this device became widespread, I would wear a fucking mask.

And the 'project a watch onto your wrist' thing? What's wrong with, y'know, a watch?

Wonderful stuff.

Although proliferation of this kind of tech would have pretty wide socioeconomic implications.

Edit: Because so much in out world is based on lies or the restriction of information.

A small device giving me a person's name and what not to mention would be handy at dinner parties. Being quietly kicked just doesn't seem to work anymore

You'd need a small nuclear power plant in your pocket to power the projector enough to be visible in the sunlight, but who cares? The Amazon rating on books you buy? This is one step away from stuff being draw directly into your brain, and when that happens I'll be in the queue for the Alpha test chip.

It's pulling information from your blog, and shit - if you don't want people knowing what you blog about, why are you blogging about it?

You'd only get some hacker messing with it so it displayed stuff like 'Sarah Connor' across any women you met.

Having what not to mention projected onto a wall in big letters, or worse on the person themselves, for everyone to see would be a good thing?

My mate just came up with the best idea for this.

You could make it so that doing a gun gesture with your hand would make a gun fire sound.

and then hack other peoples, so they got an electric shock when you did it.

It needs to have a VATS-type system showing the percentage chance of you hitting someone in the head/body/arms/legs.

Wasn't this in Snow Crash? People kitted up with it, via goggles, were known as gargoyles IIRC.
